1) Is the new Stones album AI-
assisted? Absolutely yes. In this way:
In private, Mick and Keith let AI suggest various chord-rhythm patterns
(instead of noodling around for hours and hours). Maybe one-in-fifty
suggestions caught their fancy, and they took it from there, evolving it
in the same way they evolved "Sympathy". No sounds or lyrics on the
50 final tracks are AI-generated.
2)
Every successful artist is doing this now. How else do you think
Taylor Swift has come out with 3 new albums in the last 4 years?
And how else do you think new rap artists are routinely releasing
albums with 36 or 42 tracks?
3) Of course, on the Stones new album there are also tracks that came
into existence the old-fashioned way. And
no one except Mick and
Keith will ever know which tracks are birthed which way. Because every
track will have the unmistakable human touch of the Stones in the studio.
4) On the other hand, for minimalist (c)rap artists, AI these days is
often doing 90% of the work. Even Drake's fans agree that this new
anonymous entirely AI-generated track is as good or better than
anything he has released the last few years (and he's the #1 recording
artist in the world)
