I suspect there's some niggling and wiggling over the style and tempo (and title)  of the follow-up album to 'QUITE GOOD'' which many folk will expire listening to, it will be so good.
Happy days.

A couple of reference points on our map for 2023...

Ah yeah she take all my money and spend it all over town
When I want to love her now, she can't be found
I walk and cry, drying tears away with my hand
You know that hoodoo girl, she out-hoodoo'd the hoodoo man

Yeah, ahh get out of here now
Get out of the past
Whoa, look at that man
The bitches are hypnotized

BOOM!!!

BV just now:

There will be no tour this year unfortunately.

hey hey I'm on quite the roll with my guesses...

Remember I also said that Ukraine concert, with or without the Stones,
was "doomed". Yep, its now dead as a door nail.

So let's all hope I'm also over the target with
my visions of a new Rolling Stones mega-album for Christmas.

The Stones just posted "patience please" along with this famous pic
by Ethan Russel...

...

So I'll post this famous vid called "patience" (168 million views).
It came out coincidentally in 2010 which was the last time I publicly
(on iorr dot org in fact) disputed a BV announcement that the Stones
were about to tour. "No way" I said quite undiplomatically, which did
not endear me to him lol

(we seem to have again lost our ability to insert vids, so link only)

Just now, iorr's music exec "georgelicks" is again harmonizing with me...

Blue and Lonesome was released in December 2016, but they didn't
tour until 9 months later. No tour this year could be a new scenario,
a good one actually: they could promote the new album actively
on radio/tv/streaming sites...

Unlike before .. A new album  .. especially by The Stones (and especially after this long of wait and build up) is looked at as it's own separate thing these days. It is a product in itself that 'will' or 'will not' sell / do well on it's own. Live shows may help a bit .. but it isn't necessary and touring and albums are separate things now for many ... especially The Stones.

When Keith said new music is coming, did he realise it could be old music by the time we hear it?

I'm hoping for some kind if announcement around mid-May.  They won't want anything to get caught up in King Charles' Coronation so maybe afterwards...

This is just pure guesswork on my part.  I have no inside information (sadly).

1) Is the new Stones album AI-assisted? Absolutely yes. In this way:
In private, Mick and Keith let AI suggest various chord-rhythm patterns
(instead of noodling around for hours and hours). Maybe one-in-fifty
suggestions caught their fancy, and they took it from there, evolving it
in the same way they evolved "Sympathy". No sounds or lyrics on the
50 final tracks are AI-generated.

2) Every successful artist is doing this now. How else do you think
Taylor Swift has come out with 3 new albums in the last 4 years?
And how else do you think new rap artists are routinely releasing
albums with 36 or 42 tracks?

3) Of course, on the Stones new album there are also tracks that came
into existence the old-fashioned way. And no one except Mick and
Keith will ever know which tracks are birthed which way. Because every
track will have the unmistakable human touch of the Stones in the studio.

4) On the other hand, for minimalist (c)rap artists, AI these days is
often doing 90% of the work. Even Drake's fans agree that this new
anonymous entirely AI-generated track is as good or better than
anything he has released the last few years (and he's the #1 recording
artist in the world)

Lol Keith probably would rather chop off his hand than doing anything involving AI, he doesn't want anything to do with all that modern stuff, but I can imagine Mick playing around with it just for fun and to try it out...

Also is nobody gonna talk about that video Keith and Steve posted from the studio yesterday?

1) Keith couldnt care less where the germ of the idea came from.
MT, BW, BJ, AI... it makes no difference to Keith. As long as the
final product comes from him and Mick

2) I've been saying all along that the album is not finished, that
Keith is still perfecting the guitar layers and the mix. 50 tracks is
a lot. And that's where Mick has been too, in case youre wondering.
Perfecting the lyrics and vocals.

Yeah, I agree with the final product coming from Mick and Keith, I think that's something which is very important to Keith...still I cannot really imagine him wanting to play aroubf with AI...maybe Mick would and then bring something up and show it to Keith that thry can go from, but I have a hard time believing that Keith would turn to AI by himself out of his own accord...

Where does that with the 50 songs come from? But true, I heard something that makes me guess Mick is joining Keith and Steve in NYC these days (if he hasn't already), so maybe they are working on getting the first single all polished up for release

50 tracks is a product of my guessing about what it will require to
make a dent in the current fucked-up music market. I've done the
research, there's a multi-version album approach that I've outlined
earlier in this thread, which will require approx 50 new tracks

And I never implied that Keith has operated an AI program of any
type. Undoubtedly Mick instigated it. And Keith could have rejected
it, but he didnt. I mean, all theyre doing is feeding the fucking machine
KR music and seeing what fresh ideas, if any, the thing spits out.
In my opinion, no different than Keith smoking a joint or taking
a little speed to get something going. The perfecting of it is the
heart of the matter.

Well of course we all want as many new songs as possible and I don't doubt have have dozens upon dozens of songs they could release after all these years, but I don't really dare to hope for too much because I don't wanna be disappointed...for now, a new single would be really nice I think and hopefully they'll soon be able to publish something...

Seeing that the Stones have been recycling and re-working their own rhythms and stuff before, I wonder whether they'd even need AI for that  Wink

They seek it here
They seek it there
The Stones fans seek it everywhere
Do we get pleasure? Do we get numb?
That damned elusive new album.

More sobering news for y'all who are begging
for a classic 12-song Stones album NOW

Metallica's "72 Seasons" album landed at the No. 2 spot on the
Billboard 200 chart with 146,000 equivalent album units earned,
(about the same as "Blue & Lonesome")

This is far below Metallica's recent US first-week numbers. which
have averaged around 400 thousand, with total sales averaging
about 2.5 million

"Blue & Lonesome" had legs and wound up selling over 2 million,
but this Metallica disk is legless, totally front-loaded, and will get
only around 600,000 total

Still better than U2's "Surrender", but not by all that much

Next up for self-immolation via a standard release: Foo Fighters June 2

Someone who will definitely NOT be doing a standard release during
this year's classic rock apocalypse: The Rolling Stones

Lotza-covers xmas-time steve-and-darryl multi-version mega-album incoming

To hopefully get you in the mood, here's a tune that could work for
Mick and Chanel (or Gaga):

If you're following this topic on iorr dot org, please don't fret about
the latest fake news over there that the album has been vetoed by
Keith because Andrew Watt's sound is too "modern"

Different tracks will have different producers. You can expect there
to be full production credit for Mick and Keith and partial production
credits for Steve, Matt, Ronnie, Was, and Watt. Different combos
have taken a shot at various tracks to get/refine the perfect
timeless sound...

The criticism we will most hear is that the album is "all over the
place". Yes. Music has been in a lot of great places over the past
hundred years. And the Stones own property in all those places.

With regard to bv-land, only the latest comment from music exec
"georgelicks" is on point (that is, in agreement with what I've
been claiming lol)

"The annual activity of 3 months of touring will be album promotion this year."

Mick and Keith are in perfect alignment at the moment. Otherwise they
would have never sacrificed over a hundred million in touring revenue
for an album that, even if it triples projected sales, will produce for
them only a small fraction of that. This record is not just for us.
Or for them. This record is for the ages.

Totally agree with you on that one, Rev! People over on IORR seem to be insane to think that they would call off a tour for the reason that Keith disagrees with a producer, no insurance would cover the event of "Keith having a Keith moment"  Roll Eyes

Keith doesn't have to agree with every single thing Watts is suggesting but I don't think he'd ever pull out of touring because of that or of publishing a record they worked so hard on for years. Alone last year they spent multiple months in the studio, Mick and Keith also in the beginning of this year, so I agree with you saying that Mick and Keith are in accordance on that and everyone who tries to claim differently is making up lies...

I truly think we'll hear a new single soon and then the new album in autumn, as multiple people have mentioned now to be a realistic time for release...
