Last night Dolly told Entertainment Tonight that Mick didn't say no,
that he was busy working on an album too and they never could
figure out a time or what Stones song to work on, because Mick didnt
want to do any of the famous ones

Yeah, so what I conclude from all this is that she's probably on the
Stones album. Dolly's doing publicity for the Stones currently, and
they'll be returning the favor soon enough

Her mainstream album is Nov 17. Look for their more rootsy multi-
album to be released sequentially in the 6 weeks before that. She's
covering all very famous songs -- most of the songs the Stones will
be covering are those that deserve to be more famous than they are,
songs they'll be rescuing from the memory hole, like they did with
many of the tracks on Blue & Lonesome

As I said earlier, Artists United Against The Machines !

In that spirit...

Kid Rock, Sheryl Crow, 311 million views

my favorite Kid Rock vid, because it does rock and its funny as hell

hey gimmekeef, you don't have to like him, but why publicly shit on
someone who's close with Dolly and Sheryl and Stevie Nicks, to name
but a few of his friends

The great Dolly Parton is dropping truth bombs,
here's the first single

(can't wait for the vid, to see who all is singing the chorus)

(can't wait for the Stones to follow her lead)

Now, I ain't one for speaking out much
But that don't mean I don't stay in touch
Everybody's tripping over this or that
What we gonna do when we all fall flat?

I don't know what to think about us
When did we lose "In God we trust?"
God almighty, what we gonna do?
If God ain't listening then we're deaf too

Don't get me started on politics
Now how are we to live in a world like this?
Greedy politicians, present and past
They wouldn't know the truth if it bit em in the ass

Have we all lost sight
Of common decency?
Of wrong and right?
How do we heal this great divide?
Do we care enough to try?

Liar, liar, the world's on fire
What we gonna do when it all burns down?

Can't we rise above?
Can't we show some love?
Do we just give up, or make a change?
We know all too well
We've all been through hell
Time to break the spell in Heaven's name

Liar, liar, the world's on fire
What you gonna do when it all burns down?
Fire, fire, burning higher
Still got time to turn it around

There's a natural mystic blowing through the air
If you listen carefully now, you will hear

This could be the first trumpet
might as well be the last
many more will have to suffer
many more will have to die
don't ask me why

Things are not the way they used to be
I won't tell no lie
One and all got to face reality now

Artists and Fans United Against the Machines !

Think about how many big names participated in the making of Dolly's
album without there being any leaks. Its stupifying. Man this Stones
album is gonna be hardcore. And fun.

About the new album and the new Stones line-up,
Keith is quoted today at Ultimate Classic Rock...

"It'll be interesting to find out the dynamics now that
Steve's in the band. It's sort of metamorphosing into
something else."

Meanwhile over in BV-land, on the new album thread,
a plea by "TravelinMan":

"I don’t understand why my post related to the very real future of
music was deleted because it centers on AI music. People need to
talk about it instead of being silenced"

Mick Jagger's 10 minute speech

On the same song, sharing vocals:
Sam Moore, Kid Rock, Steve Jordan, Lisa Fisher

Sharing the same stage:
Eric Clapton, Henry Kissinger, Dr John, Neil Young,
Bette Midler, Waddy Wachtel, and a hundred others

Fun fact: Kid Rock hung out and even vacationed with Ahmet

I don't know why I never saw this in its entirety before:
The 2007 Tribute to Ahmet Ertegun at Lincoln Center.
But 2023 is a good time for it, to remember what we were
just a short time ago, before our part of the world completely
lost its mind, and to give context to why Dolly and the Stones
are doing these cover-heavy mega-albums this year.

Steve Jordan served as musical director...

"Wild Wild Young Men" 1953 written by Ahmet:

BOOM! I've suspected this and now there are actual rumors of
a third cover-heavy mega-album on its way. God i hope its true,
she would be a BIG help...

Has Lady Gaga been working on a new album? While representatives
are keeping tight-lipped, there have been strong rumors that the singer
is finally returning to the recording studio working on what might be
a back-to-roots album
.

Gaga recently cancelled, without explanation, the release of her
completed and long-awaited ArtPop2 album. Is she combining it
with these new cover-song sessions? Enquiring minds want to know...

1) If by that you mean we all should take some time to try to digest
just how different this new album will be, rather than rush to judgement
like a bunch of silly IORRaqis, GOOD IDEA

2) From the Wyman interview...

Asked whether he still listens to the Stones, he said: “I do, but it’s not
the kind of thing I like any more… With the Rhythm Kings, my own band,
we were playing different kinds of music which I was enjoying much
better… It was great when I was in the Stones and I loved every minute
of it, but it was time to move on and do different things. I like the variety
of music… country music, reggae, blues.”

a) my main take-away from this interview is that Bill on bass will be
another one of the guest appearances on the new Stones album

b) As for "country music, reggae, blues", like I've been telling y'all,
that's a big part of where we're headed. The difference is that while
the Rhythm Kings play only very polite versions of those genres, the
new Stones record is going to have some extremely jagged edges,
musically and lyrically

When I hear that trumpet sound
I'm gonna rise right out of the ground
Ain't no grave
Can hold my body down

I got a letter this morning, how do you reckon it read?
It said, hurry, hurry, the gal you love is dead
I loved you baby, like I love myself
You don't have me, you won't have nobody else

Dem come inna mi area, want to kill off the youth
Now dress up inna jacket, and dem dress up inna tie
Come a courthouse, want to tell pure lies
Dem a murderer

Why do I dislike Kid Rock? Well for starters his bullshit gun display shooting s case of Bud Light is so childish its ridiculous.  But par for the course from a southern Waffle House hillbilly. He has no place on stage with real artists. A glorified roadie.

At iorr dot org, long-timer "Meise" has reported:

Yesterday I had an interesting phone call with Ulli Schroeder from the
Stones Museum in Luechow Germany about an event with Darryl Jones at
the Museum in June. Ulli told me that the Stones have asked Darryl to
remain available from August 2023 on.
Ulli added that the new record
has been finished and will be published presumably in early fall this year.

Hmmm. Let's see. Multiple sources, including even tour-mad BV, have
confirmed that there will be no big tour this year. So why then must Darryl
be available "from August 2023 on"? I mean, why will Darryl be integral
to the promotion of the album for five months?

I'd like to buy an "O", Alex Pat

it is first teased and then announced that The Rolling Stones have
added two new members
?

Asimov and folk waned about all this sort of stuff and the Singularity and stuff decades ago.
Maybe it's sort-of sci-fi writers'' fault for studying the possibilities.
It's an odd/interesting thought.

1) A new interview with Mick about the new album...

https://rockfeed.co.in/489/

In the interview, Jagger explained that the band’s latest album was
a labor of love. He emphasized the importance of taking their time
and not rushing the creative process. Jagger stated, “We wanted to
make sure every song on the album was well-crafted. We didn’t want
to release something just for the sake of putting out new music.”

WARNING

Although this "interview" undoubtedly contains elements of the truth,
it is my judgement that it is entirely FAKE and written by AI

Hopefully this serves as a timely wake-up call that we will also probably
soon be hit with deep-fake snippets...

I've advised this before: Get your pineal gland in shape. It produces
the DMT necessary for you to tell fact from fiction. The pineal can get
clogged up with calcium, just like your arteries. FYI, fluoride is also
problematic for the pineal.

On with the show, good health to you.

2) It was 1968. Toots Hibbert had come up with a new dance beat, and
was thinking about what to name it. It seemed to Toots that the sound
was sorta the opposite of rock and roll, so he took the name of his
friend Mick Jagger and reversed it (Toots thought it was spelled "Mick
Yagger"). Thus was "reggay" born...

Soon thereafter Chris Blackwell and Mick got together with Toots and
advised him to drop the TRUE Yagger story and instead tell this FAKE
story: that the word was actually spelled "reggae" and that it was derived
from Jamaican slang meaning "raggedy", that is, "poor".

Chris and Mick had accurately perceived that any association with
jet-setter Mick could only hurt the popularity of this new rootsy music.

The lesson? While it is surely helpful, as noted earlier, to discern fact from
fiction, it is WAY more important to be able to discern the greater good.

My theory has been that the new album "rocking the blues"
will drive home the critical role the music of the last
100 years has played in our survival as a society. You
could even say that the Rolling Stones, throughout their
history, have been dedicated to this proposition.

Its more than a theory it seems. In their new lyric vid,
they specifically review the past 100 years, and issue
an urgent warning about where we're headed...

two songs written just about 100 years ago:

Call me old-fashioned, but I thought '100 Year Ago' was inspired by Marianne F ('Mary & I' etc.) leaving the fold but hanging around inebriated  near Trident Studios in Soho on the walk-way with the Austrian plaque on the wall.. A super song nevertheless.

Okay. Doesnt quite explain all the lyrics, but okay as a partial inspiration...

However we're talking about the 2023 lyric vid, with its repeated
zooming-in on the words "I warn you" and the way it changes from
a farm or hippie girl in the woods to AI go-go dancers in an urban
jungle...

At 2:37 the vid specifically takes us through the history of recorded music,
using these dates:

1887 -- Edison's wax cylinder player, the Phonograph, trademarked
1895 -- the Gramophone begins to take over, playing shellac disks
1952 -- vinyl begins to take over from shellac
1973 -- the automobile tape deck, leading to the takeover by
cassettes/8-tracks, and eventually CDs/mp3s

I was picking up a pie last night at Mellow Mushroom. The bar was packed and I quickly noticed these two English lads- chaps talking loudly. They were talking new Stones. I was able to eavesdrop that the new album is quite good and will be titled Radio Friendly. The gummies were kicking in and I paid for my pies and split.
