The latest from BV

My understanding is they are working on new dates for the fall.

More misinfo. They are not. No big shows this year.

TikTok, the ppv thing, the "leaks" etc have all just been
Stones dot biz doing market testing, preparing for the real
marketing campaign in the autumn, for the album

One thing theyve learned is that they dont have an easy task
ahead of them. The market for any new music by them, beyond
their base, is as cold as ever.

What's so exciting, for me, is that Mick and Keith have decided
that this new body of work is so good that they are going to
devote the year 2023 entirely to it, with little to no hope of
getting paid handsomely for their efforts.

For the first time in a long time, this year is entirely about the
music, not the dollars. Whether or not the world wants what the
Stones currently have to offer, jesus christ are they gonna get it!

No rumors but I would put it as unlikely considering they just played there in 2021. There could always be a wildcard city closer in proximity like Madison, Green Bay, Fargo, whatever stadium in Omaha Motley Crue is playing.

Again. I want to be as close to home as possible due to the ages particularly of Mick & Keith. I absolutely positively do NOT want to have to fly to see them. I have not seen them previously but have talked off & on for a while about it and I feel it's now or never.

I would put Minnesota between slim and none as they just played there in 2021 - to about 75% capacity.

Its become such a fountain of misinformation over there,
I think Bill Gates will acquire it and re-name it MS-IORR...

Let's start here, with the delusion thats underpinning
their entire ridiculous narrative: That the Stones
are naming the tour after the album.

This is not 1994. These days comedians make JOKES on
TV about legacy artists who try in concert to force feed
their audience of casuals a new album. Naming your tour
that way is equal to telling the masses to stay away and
wait for next time, when you'll again focus on your hits.

Also on MS-IORR they cant get their story straight
whether the tour is holding up the album or the album
is holding up the tour...

So I repeat: Their album this year is a passion project
which they will not undercut with a tour. They will use
media appearances/small gigs to promote the hell out
of the album, theyre proud of it, and will give the album
a chance to breathe. If by some miracle the album breaks
big this autumn/winter, then maybe they'll name any
2024 tour after it. If not, they'll just get back to their
main business, which is throwing hella parties, calling
the tour probably "Sixty-Two". Or better yet "62+62".

(today, according to variety-dot-com "the album’s production
is nearing the mixing phase")

I say "shit or get off the pot"!

No reason they cant just sail into the sunset with grace and dignity and just release a last studio effort.
There is no need to tour behind a new album since they may play 4 songs from it and whittle it down to 1 by the 6th (of 14) shows...
having said that...

I would only travel to see them if it is in my personal space at this point...
NC, DC, Buffalo, maybe NY/NJ (MSG!)...all places I have reasons to be in other than just a concert.

Sail off into the sunset?
As Jonathan Miller said, 'Who knows?'.

The very lovely piss-streaming Dartford pop team (makers perhaps of this year's Coronation-busting re-worked hit 'Get Off My Crown', with sweet Dual Licker) should do whatever they want.

Philly will be the best night of the tour.

I didn't even think about the coronation I know that Ed Sheeran and some other
pop gal turned down the King's invite...wonder if the Stones are even on Charles' radar?
I know they would party with his Auntie Margaret quite often...
His ex-wife, was totally into Duran Duran I recall...

I think playing the Coronation is a good idea, if the details
can be worked to the satisfaction of both parties. I imagine
that such discussions are ongoing...

Finally, a knighthood for Keith?

Coronation appearance very unlikely. Darryl's on tour of Europe with
Jazz-Takes Supergroup and has a gig that night in Austria.

Meanwhile Mick seems to be hanging with Diane von Furstenberg
in NYC. Or London. Reports differ.

Also, according to the Daily Mail, "Mick's family are planning a
‘massive blow-out’ to celebrate the singer’s 80th birthday on
July 26, but they will need a large venue to include all his
children and former flames."

Keith performed at the Queen's Coronation as a choir boy.

Could be a unique double if the guys get this gig.

That's a cool angle, thanks for the reminder

I guess Darryl will just have to change his plans

I think all their sidemen are required to have escape
clauses that say "I'm obligated unless the Stones call"

One source says “Keith Richards sang as a choirboy in a trio of
boy sopranos for Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey”

...but if that were true, you'd think there would be an
easy-to-find photo. There are numerous photos of boys
singing for the new Queen that day, but is there one of Keith?

This photo of his choir is confirmed, but its from afterwards,
not at the ceremony:

...

So maybe I've made a discovery? Left row, fifth from the rear.
Sure looks like Keith to me...

The latest is that the Coronation show will be quite Pop

So far confirmed: Lionel Richie, Take That, Kylie and Danii Minoque,
and Andrew Lloyd Webber

And its the day after the Coronation, not part of the big day, so
probably not a huge enough deal to interest the Stones

I just watched a good bit of the 1953 coronation. What a huge
intentionally medieval spectacle! Its estimated it would cost
over 200 million pounds to pull off something similar now.
The newspapers say Charles is trying to keep his expenses down
around 100 million, but is even that enough penny-pinching for
the British public under current circumstances? We'll see.

Elizabeth was a young beautiful Queen, her recently deceased
father had been loved for his WW2 role, the Commonwealth
was still strong...

Another media outlet puts the inflation-adjusted estimate for
the 2023 Coronation at MORE than the one in 1953.  £120 million
versus £107 million. And, for this tidy sum, Charles will get
one-quarter the show.  One hour instead of four. 2000 guests
instead of 8000.

As for the concert, apparently Adele and Ed Sheeran have added
themselves to the "no thank you" list. The concert has become a
PR disaster and probably needs to be cancelled, "to save the
taxpayers money" or "over security concerns" or whatever.

Instead do classical music and maybe some jazz at the Royal
Albert. Get back on-brand.

The Sun today:

Live Aid-style gig for Ukraine to pile pressure on Putin
with Pink & U2 set to perform at Wembley this summer

Other greats including The Rolling Stones and The Killers have also
been asked to perform in support of President Volodymyr Zelensky

FYI, there is absolute zero chance that the Rolling Stones will participate

Though I suppose its possible that Mick could be persuaded to come out and
sing Gimme Shelter with U2 and Fergie Pink

All these cancellations. Seems to be contagious...

Kylie has now backed out on Charles (dunno about Danii)

and U2 and Pink have gone from "yes" to "maybe" for Zelinsky

Despite the widespread reports, a Wembley Stadium spokesperson
said that no such Ukraine event is scheduled at the venue: “We do
not have confirmation with any promoter for any other concerts in
2023 other than those that are currently on sale.”

Amidst all the fake news, here's my dream: Mick recently in
London to help Charles pull his fat out of the fire, for the sake
of the nation. Mick organizing the  aforementioned televised
Albert Hall event celebrating British classical/jazz/etc contributions
to world culture. Closing act, the Stones, with some mostly
instrumental blues, giving their jazz-oriented sidemen a chance
to stretch out, Keith and Ronnie keeping it raw, lots of harmonica.
Then, its all hands on deck, including the London Bach Choir,
for the grand finale...
