Angry opens with a  pretty basic riff so it could be Keith….

The full one-minute trailer...

Rolling Stones LIVE with Jimmy Fallon --
Talking new album, new music, new era

“Hackney may be at the heart of Hackney Diamonds, but this is
a truly global moment we want to share with fans around the
world via YouTube,” the band say in a statement about the event.

A trailer for the interview is now on YouTube, and can be watched
above: the band are also seeking questions from fans worldwide...

'Submit your questions in the comments including name &
your country'

Hmm...

"A New Era. A Truly Global Moment."

With hype like this, they are really raising the stakes...

Love it.

Alert Board Moderator about this Post!

1) Roger Friedman (above post #762) "confirmed" this 12-track list:

“Angry” (with producer Andrew Watt)
“Bite My Head Off”
“Depending On You” (with producer Andrew Watt)
“Dreamy Skies”
“Driving Me Too Hard”
“Get Close” (with producer Andrew Watt)
“Live by the Sword”
“Mess It Up”
“Morning Joe Cues”
“Sweet Sounds of Heaven”
“Tell Me Straight”
“Whole Wide World”

2) ...so we need to acknowledge the possibility that the opening
riff of "Angry" is not written or played by Mick or Keith or Ronnie.
It may be Andrew.

3) iorr's "ukcal" sent the above track list to Ben Waters. Ben replied,
"If that tracklist is correct, then I'm not on the album". "ukcal" then
asked Ben "What about on a deluxe edition?"  Ben replied, "Thank you
for sending me the tracklist, bye."  LOL the mega-album idea hangs
on by a thread...

4) I don't know if "Morning Joe Cues" will be a good song or not,
but I do know that, like "Sweet Neocon", it will generate a storm
of media commentary

5) Long-shot guess: "Dreamy Skies" will be in part a commentary
on the cult of Taylor Swift. (Current #1 UK hit "Vampire" by Olivia
Rodrigo is speculated to be a brutal take-down of Olivia's former
bestie Swift. When asked about that by the media, all Olivia would
say is "Hmm. I wonder why people think that." Remember, Swift is
famous for her catchy narcissistic put-downs of ex-friends and
ex-lovers. Swift fucking slaughtered John Mayer, who is close with
Steve and a definite friend of our band)

6) Two more guesses...

"live by the sword" Ukraine seems obvious, but this could also
apply to Swift (see "dreamy skies" above)

"whole wide world" world wide web, the internet

I have great difficulty believing that they would title an album track "Morning Joe Cues". My guess is that it's a collection clips of unused studio jams given to Joe Scarborough to use as bumpers on his show Wednesday. I would imagine it would come out later on a deluxe version of the album. I've set my DVR to record the show this week but haven't watched it yet. (I don't like the way Scarborough talks over everyone and is seemingly unable to ever make a succinct point.)

1) What you say makes sense. If we weren't living in such bizarre times...

2) ...but its starting to look like this first version of the album will be
extremely topical, in order to generate max publicity

3) ...so i'm starting to pin my more rootsy musical hopes on the
deluxe edition(s)

Interesting info. On live TV, such outros and intros are called "cues"

...so "Morning Joe Cues" seems likely to comment about politicians
and political media using famous music to help polish/shape their
image, usually without the explicit permission of the artists. If the
artist doesn't like it, they have to fight it. The artist will eventually
win the time-consuming fight, but what a fucking hassle. Plus,
any such fight will tend to alienate that portion of your fans who
happen to like that particular politician or pundit. So most times
it makes sense for the artist to just let it go...

I skimmed through this mornings episode of Morning Joe. No indications of any Stones or possible Stones music. Lots of coverage of Jimmy Buffett's passing. I'm going to guess now Thursday morning will be the big Stones episode if they do it at all.

Christmas would come early for the pirates and it would be commercially inadvisable if that was the case. Especially as its not due out for weeks.

Saying that - and I know its a very long time ago - unless my memory is playing tricks, when 'A Bigger Bang' came out 18 years ago this week (!!!) I seem to remember that they streamed the whole album for free on their official site on the week of its release (or maybe even a few days before it)

As I recall ABB was streaming on NPR's website about August 30 or 31, because it was just a day or two after hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans. So, there's precedent. I still don't think they'll release the whole thing tomorrow, though. I sure hope I'm wrong, because I'd be crazy excited if they did.

How do modern artists that drop new studio albums without notice handle their physical releases these days anyway?

Beyonce has done it a couple of times. Her self titled album came out digitally first however ahead of the physical release

In early December 2013, Beyoncé and her management company Parkwood Entertainment held meetings concerning its release with executives from Columbia Records and the iTunes Store, using the code name "Lily" for the album. Meetings were also held with Facebook executives in regard to advertising that resulted in the album benefiting from the social network's then new "Auto Play" feature for videos. On December 9, 2013, Rob Stringer, Chairman of Columbia Records, knowingly told media that the album would be released at some point in 2014 and it would be "monumental". On December 13, 2013, the album was released in the early hours of the morning without any prior announcement or promotion exclusively on the iTunes Store. The singer commented that she was "bored" of her music being marketed as it had been done previously, and wanted its release to be a different experience for her fans. The album was available exclusively on iTunes Stores until December 20, 2013, when physical copies were distributed to other retailers. Parkwood Entertainment had a seventy-two-hour turnaround from the moment the album was released online to prepare its physical release.

As soon as the album became exclusively available to iTunes Stores, Sony Music handed down an edict that forbade retailers to put the album up for pre-order, as to further protect the exclusivity with the iTunes Store.] It was then reported that American retailers Target and Amazon Music refused to sell the physical copies of the album. According to a Target spokesperson, the store was only interested in retailing albums that were released digitally and physically simultaneously
