Steve and Darryl would be world news? Nobody except superfans have any idea who tf Steve and Darryl are.

Sad but true...all those casual randos who only know Satisfaction don't even know who Ronnie is  (

What's sad but true is that it is the photos of this new version
of this uber-iconic Jagger-Richards band that would be played up big
around the world. Spoken or (mostly) unspoken, it is the racial angle
that would reverberate in media-land like an earthquake...

(...along with the age angle, the idea of 80 year-old legends starting
a "new era")

And notice I only said it would be worldwide news. I didn't say that
some high percentage of the world's population would give a shit.
A high percentage of the world's population does not even give a shit
about Taylor Swift, but she is certainly legit worldwide news, on front
pages and media feeds everywhere because of her $1.5 billion tour.

Speaking of whom, coming October 13, to once again crush everything
in her path...

...another reason the Stones are moving quickly now. To grab themselves
a piece of the news cycle before cinematic T-Swift takes over in North
America, reigning supreme until the "real" thing can return from
her current Caesar-like conquest of foreign lands

Tickets for her movie are $19.89 because that is a very important year
in history. The year that Blond-zilla was hatched Taylor was born.

Thats one of the ones Watt co-wrote, so yeah, I'd imagine more a Mick composition than Keith

Steve Jordan on drums here. Yes has a bit of a GGME drum 'feel'... and a larger than life .. 'It Must Be Hell' guitar sort of chord sound. That is almost certainly Mick on Guitar.

However Keith may add that juice and snarl or venom to it and with Ronnie to complete a less fun sounding and more 'angry' (some pun Cheesy) sound to it. Sounds quite 'Rock Radio Friendly' in the very short snip we heard.

Btw, I'd just like to state how glad I am that for some reason I cannot register on IORR and then came here instead cause over there people aren't only insulting the band members but also each other over a 20 second clip of this new single, it's ridiculous...I don't understand why people just cannot be grateful to get some new music at all...they didn't have to record and put out this album in the first place

Its a hard rock intro. Much harder than "Don't Stop'. Sounds like Charlie
on drums, but I guess it must be Steve. Too short a clip to know
anything about how the track might develop...

Definitely not the same song as the subway gif on twitter

"Don't get angry with me" a much better title than "angry"

Very clever to make people work hard to hear just a snippet.

On twitter the Rolling Stones are making fun of individuals who are
posting angry tweets about how difficult it was to load the snippet...

LOL love it. I guess I've still got a bit of anarchy in my heart. As do
the Stones obviously

And now we have the IORR org experts trashing the song because
(they are sure) it is Mick and Steve we are hearing

What would be so delicious now is if it was Charlie on drums (sounding
Steve-ish) and Keith on guitar (sounding Mick-ish), assisted perhaps
in post-production by the studio wizardry of Andrew Watt. (Yes, I am
saying that Watt and Mick could have re-written/re-arranged/re-processed
an existing Keith/Charlie jam in post-production. Not saying that's what
we have, but its certainly possible)

Yeah, a long shot, but a fella can dream, can't he ?

I think twitter Stones has also spilled the beans
about what the 2nd line is

Don't get angry with me
I never got angry with you

Besides the Steve-Darryl possibility, what else could they do
on Weds to keep the pot boiling?

Release a new vid for Angry as news-worthy as the ones for
Doom and Gloom and Ride Em On Down?

In a shocker, move up the album release date to this friday?

Anything else you can think of?

Not only release the vid for Angry and announce the release date for the new album, but also announce that they're gonna play a handful of shows (like 2 each in NYC and London) to promote it (a mini-residency, so to speak xD)...one can at least dream  Wink

This "new era" could be anything.

A residency.
Darryl and Steve being made full-time members. Chuck too.
Some AI-inspired technology bringing the band to your favorite tech widget.

But it has to be residency, playing the hits to the masses. The band no longer visits your town. You have to visit them at some Rolling Stones theme park.

A NEW ERA.

Something to grab headlines.

What's new for them?

They've done world tours. Had #1 albums. Pay per view. Radio and TV are old hat to them. Movies are old. VIP experiences at the stadium are old news as well. What would be new?

Stones residency in a venue with roof with hotel chain tie-in. Get your Hackney Diamonds weekend get-away package now. Two tickets, one room, etc. etc. Gig won't get cancelled due to weather.

Universal has several theme parks...

It's claimed that the original  title/lyric-line was  nspired both by Keith's hobbty and by several members seeing Mortimer & Whitehouse on their tellies; that initially it was 'Don' Go Angling With Me'..But I think it's stretching it a bit.

Lord help me, but I woke up this morning with another great gimmick
in my head, that the Stones might be laying on us...

Rev 20 Redlights wrote on Sep 1st, 2023 at 10:35am:
Rev 20 Redlights wrote on Sep 1st, 2023 at 10:07am:

I think the "subway track" is also Don't Get Angry...  And that it is
just Mick doing the singing, probably him double-tracked...

Only problem is the guitars and drums seem to be quiet on the
"subway track". So maybe there are pop and rock versions of the song?

Listen for yourself to the "subway track"...
(sorry, youtube "shorts" will not embed, can only be linked)

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/dqRjnPT3bTM

I'm pretty sure the "subway track" is the "drop" on the single. Some
people call it the "breakdown", when most of the instrumentation drops
away, and you're left with mostly the voice and maybe a beat or maybe
the bass. Like on Miss You and Ghost Town...

I think possibly Mick on this drop is also slightly auto-tuned !!!

(remember, don't get angry)

So what's going on here? A hard-rock intro with a pop-dance drop?
What kind of gimmick might this be?

How about this? Instead of a mega-album, a mega-single.
For charity. With all the big-name guests on one song. With Charlie's
drumming on part of it, and Steve's on the rest. The Stones doing
what only the Stones can do with authenticity, that is, cycling through
rock and blues and soul and pop and dance and reggae and country,
with drops between the sections...

The full 15-minute version on youtube with ALL the guests performing.
A bunch of shorter versions for different genres and radio formats.
All kinds of streaming and vinyl and merch options, and all for charity...

Then come October, we get the all-Stones version on an all-Stones
more-or-less classic Stones album...

End of fantasy.

The Rolling Stones release snippet of new song Don't Get Angry With Me but people are angry with them anyway

https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/rolling-stones-release-snippet-song-11134902...

The Rolling Stones have released a 16 second snippet of a new song, Don't Get Angry With Me, but appear to have underestimated the amount of web traffic that the new song would generate, which – rather ironically –  has angered fans eager to hear it.

Earlier today, the band launched a new website, dontgetangrywithme.com, which plays the song. Many fans are reporting that the page fails to load, or that they're greeted by error messages, and while perseverance does appear to pay off – giving fans access to the 16-second teaser – the Rolling Stones' twitter feed has been filled with angry fans since the launch. And, in what will surely turn out to be the punchline in some kind of hilarious meta joke, whoever's been manning the band's account is responding to complaints simply by answering with the song title: "Don't get angry with me."

Fans of the band who happen to be web developers will also be delighted to learn that the new website's source code features the band's iconic logo rendered as a piece of ascii art, with "Good things come to those who wait" written beneath.

Last week the Rolling Stones launched what appears to be a stealthy publicity campaign for their long-awaited 24th studio album via a cryptic advertisement placed in the Hackney Gazette, an East London newspaper. The advert purported to be for a company called Hackney Diamonds, a glass repair business, and featured a sales blurb that referenced three song titles by the band.

And yesterday, the band posted a 14-second-long augmented reality video clip of their iconic logo above an entrance to a New York subway station, promising that "A new Stones era Worldwide" would be beginning on September 6.

We await further developments.
