I see people all over not impressed (and some others actually 'complaining'?) about the titles of the song list..?

1. Although there may be a few more added those titles already registered won't change .. they are real and are the final names.

2. We haven't heard the songs yet.. Yikes.. relax Smiley For example 'Miss You' is a very simple title .. or say 'Happy' .. or 'Love is Strong' ... or 'Let's Spend the Night Together' .. or 'Paint it Black' or 'Sway' etc. etc. etc. ...and some may say boring or simple if we didn't know the song. Not every song can or should have a title like Continental Drift or Sympathy for The Devil Lol

>> Ya Gotta HEAR the song and it's context .. before you can even begin to cast doubt or any judgement based on the title right? .. Lol Geeesh.

Hackney is one of the worst places in the country for severe child
poverty, which affects ten thousand children in the borough, according
to new figures from Save the Children.

For the first time, the charity has provided a local authority breakdown
of the figures. Hackney is one of 29 local authorities across the country
with more than one in five children living in severe poverty.

Manchester has the highest proportion of children living in severe
child poverty in the UK. However, the London borough of Tower
Hamlets is a close second with Hackney, Newham and Westminster
all in the top ten worst affected places.

I can't figure out how to post pictures because I'm lame, but the Stones' Instagram has a picture of the Chrysler Building with the new diamonds tongue projected onto it.

Exciting days ahead!

10 pics at link. Shattered glass tongue photoshopped* onto

it would be in incredibly bad taste...

That's why I think this can't be for the album

(note to jind: photoshopped, not projected. i got an idea. let's
photoshop a tongue onto the Taj Mahal! Or the Great Wall!
Or the Full Moon! As I said, this shit is way too lame to be sincere)

STONES SECRET

The Rolling Stones will release new album Hackney Diamonds in October as they secretly reveal new single

Simon Boyle
Published: 20:07, 29 Aug 2023Updated: 20:07, 29 Aug 2023

ROLLING Stones fans believe the sneaky newspaper ad that teased their new album also contained a hidden clue to the title of the lead single  . . . and it’s Angry.

Those who called the number of the fake glazing ad in the Hackney Gazette last week were met with a recording that said: “Welcome to Hackney Diamonds, specialists in glass repair. Don’t get angry, get it fixed.”

And that has led many to think “Angry” could be the first single from the album, which will be called Hackney Diamonds.

A music industry insider said: “The reception from the Stones’ fans to the announcement has been incredible.

“Angry is a good shout, but they’ll just have to wait and see.”

Fans won’t be twiddling their thumbs for too long, as I have been told the band, made up of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood, are putting out the record in late October.

My music insider added: “The Stones are so proud of Hackney Diamonds and they cannot wait for their fans to hear it.

“The record is going to be out towards the end of October. They’re confident it will become their 14th chart-topper.”

I’d definitely put a fiver on it. Earlier this year I revealed that the group’s former bassist, Bill Wyman, had returned to record a song on the album dedicated to the Stones’ late drummer Charlie Watts.

The album is the band’s first since his death in 2021 and the first body of work featuring original songs since A Bigger Bang was released in 2005.

Charlie’s drumming will be heard on the record, with his stand-in Steve Jordan providing the rest, while Elton John and Paul McCartney will also put in cameos.

As the nights start to draw in and the weather gets even worse, I can’t think of anything better than getting this record on vinyl and playing it at top blast with a glass of something warming.

Roll on October.

The folks at IORR have identified the 10 pics as being from a
total of only 5 countries

USA, England, Germany, Spain, and France

"Join the World" ???

(Aren't these the 5 countries where the Stones make the most money?)

"Welcome to Hackney Diamonds" ???

Welcome?  To a world of shattered plate glass?

This just gotta be some kind of dark joke, or social commentary,
or charity single, or warning, or something

(And aren't these also the 5 countries sending the most munitions
to you-know-where?)

I'm crossposting my dumb wishes and expectations. Take it easy on me.

I'm very excited about the new album. The day it comes out is going to feel like Christmas did when I was a kid. I have intense memories of every new release going back to Dirty Work in the blood red cellophane wrapper. I was walking on clouds the day A Bigger Bang started streaming.

The cuts with McCartney & Wyman will have to be special songs, and I'm curious to hear those two in particular.

Wishes:

- A book on the making of the album.

- Long Rolling Stone cover story and interviews.

- A documentary with some live in studio performances of new songs.

- Not too many ballads, and hopefully the ballads that are included are next level in quality and more soulful.

- At least 1 fast tempo rocker from Keith, preferably 2 or more.

Expectations:

- 1 or 2 stereotypical "Stones sounding" rock songs, 1 of them will be the album opener and the first single.

- Music video with hot young celebrity looking cool.

- At least 2 ballads, 1 by Keith and the other a country sounding ballad by Mick. If there's a third ballad, I'm guessing it will either have a classic soul or modern sound.

- 1 "apocalyptic" song, either in sound or lyric imagery.

- A duet with Mick & Keith on the final track.

- The Dua Lipa song will probably be mid or fast tempo modern sound and I'm guessing it will be the second single just ahead of the album release, since it should grab some attention just for her guest spot. Though there is a possibility it could also be a slower duet with Mick since she does slow stuff, I'll stick with the midtempo guess. I'll go ahead and also predict that she will bring her A game, for whatever that is worth.

- I think there will be 2 or 3 mid tempo intense modern sounding tracks that will be standouts and prove to be fairly popular with younger listeners, but also divisive to the hardcore longtime fans that don't like to hear the Stones do modern rock.

I'd forgotten about the Dua Lipa story but the only thing we know is that she was photographed in a studio with Mick late last year - there wasnt any concrete evidence to suggest they had been working together and none of the speculation of late on the new album suggests she's on it

My friend. Are you joshing us? If not .. and with all due respect ... We must wake up and smell Zeeee coffee. This IS all for the album .. The album is called Hackney Diamonds.. and the artwork we've saw today and the leaked artwork and the track listing is not phony or a ploy. This is NOT for something else. It's real .. and it's happening. Grab a seat and let's enjoy. Just sayin.

I foresaw a lot of things this year. No tour. No album til Christmas time.
Classic rock flopping all year long. So: heavy non-standard promotion of
the Stones album when it finally arrived...

But nowhere in my musings did I foresee anything anywhere near as
dark as where this seems to be headed...

The whole thing about the "mega album", besides being a way to break
through the terrible market conditions for classic rock, was that it would
be the Stones showing off their prowess in all the various genres, the way
they did for the blues on Blue and Lonesome.

I still think that would be thrilling, and pleasurable. So I still hope
that's what happens...

But there's no way the title "Hackney Diamonds" can fit that scenario.
If Hackney Diamonds is a real one-disk album, and not another giant
fake-out, then this marketing is signaling something extremely dark
and nasty and cynical and mocking...

Certainly not what I wanted. But maybe possibly something we need?

*shudder*

the album is supposed to come out in October tho, that's not exactly Christmas-time^^ anyway, I'm just really really excited and so looking forward to it, all I'm asking of this album is a few typical Stones rockers, 1-2 songs with Keith on vocals and a nice ballad with Mick and Keith singing beautiful harmony together Smiley

My guess on the 5 countries those pictures were taken is that according to a statistic I have seen on IORR last year that those are the 5 countries the Stones have played the most concerts in over the past 60 years and alas where they probably expect to make the most money with the album as well....or if we can start dreaming for a moment, maybe they're gonna play one show to promote the album in each of those countries but it wouldn't be very logical, seeing that 4 are in Europe...my best guess for a small-scale mini-tour like that would be 2-3 shows in NYC and LA and 2-3 shows in London and Paris if something like that were to happen...
