You wouldnt even be able to get it in most of London, let alone the rest of the UK. Just googled it and it has a print readership of 3,600 with an advertising reach (including the Islington Gazette) of 18,000. Easy to miss!

There have been quite a few clues the last 7 months that this mega-album
will embrace the last 100 years of music, since that is an important aspect
of what the Stones have always done...

With such a theme, you can understand why they picked Hackney.

Its interesting to think about whether any Stones album has ever
truly had a title AND subtitle. Do any of these count?

More Hot Rocks (Big Hits & Fazed Cookies)

December's Children (And Everybody's)

Anyway perhaps...

the title

Hackney Diamonds

might benefit from

the subtitle

Domicile on Mare St

That subtitle by itself would generate an earthquake
of media and buzz. Four little words. Millions in free publicity.

Or it could just be used as a fake subtitle, in some of the advertising.
A tagline. Would still create a good deal of buzz i think...

...raising the whole question of what about this album might be more
English than usual, and less American? Will this be their most English
album since Let It Bleed? With their band more American than ever?

I mean, intentionally giving the album a name that will produce
puzzled looks on the faces of geographically challenged Americans
(the Stones' biggest market by far), its an interesting choice...

"Whataya mean? Its not all about us? Everything in the world you
can possibly imagine is all about us. Hackney Diamonds?! Sounds like
a damn Kinks album."

I'm amazed. I'm changing my opinion of the title. I've talked myself out of it...

Its too provincial for a 2023 Rolling Stones album title.

The album title doesn't have to be American, but it does need a global feel

Hackney Diamonds is still a great title for a lead single though.
Especially one with Paul. And maybe even Ringo. OMG Elton too?!

Now THAT would be fucking English

It just says "Hackney Diamonds". The name of the song and
the name of the mythical "band"

Is it gimmicky?

Sheesh.
