we're only about 4 hours away

there is no countdown clock on youtube, as there should be

uh-oh

i'm not a streaming guy or a pre-order guy, so i am seeking reassurance

are we neanderthals about to be crushed by technology?

will the only ones who will be able to hear this "release" be those
that have pre-ordered, that is, bought it, or the album, already
on a streaming service?

That would be a real Joker move, wouldn't it?

yeah I always thought that those people who claimed that there was fighting going on just are the usual ones who're mentally forever stuck in the 80s lol...considering how Mick and Keith have been behaving with each other since Keith stopped drinking 24/7 somewhen in 2018, I highly doubt that there was any fighting worth mentioning going on...just some normal disagreements...those two are nothing but sweet with each other these days, probably realised they aren't getting any younger and it's dumb being stuck up on old shit...

At this point it looks like it will NOT be on Stones or Gaga youtube

nor on any social media

What are your alternate plans, if needed? Have you pre-ordered the song
or album on a streaming service? Will there be some other way to hear it?

hopefully you're right, r-w. but 1) there's no doubt that the lack of a
countdown is very unusual. normally we'd have hundreds of
people waiting by now at the youtube link 2) no youtube and no physical
pre-orders could explain the thursday "release", which might not really
be a release but just be a publicity-generating treat for (gaga's) streaming
monsters, like 2-for-1 starbucks 3) the Joker thing -- the pic and story at the
top of this page says it all. Mick trolls his fans like nobody else 4) youtube
pays less than the streaming services, so this could also be aimed at
that problem, to take a bit of shine off of youtube's dominance (which
might also explain why the Stones blocked most Angry reaction vids)

I've got a free spotify account, maybe that will be enough?

Anyone wishing for a new Stones song to have that "Exile" feel should be mighty pleased today.

I'm fucking losing it over this one.

Mick nailed the vocal.

The Stones would never be so explicitly sentimental, but as an album closer it makes for a hell of a goodbye to Charlie. Followed by just Mick & Keith doing a country blues. Deep.

oxygen you breathe, it’s a lifestyle, a reason to breathe, an escape from
this cruel world, the first gift you open on christmas, a hug from a loved
one, everything you’ve ever wanted. Song Of The Year!!!

I don't have any sense of how the world will digest this song,
no prediction, I just hope its makes a hell of a lot of other people
happy, brings them to tears, give them chills, like me and Michel

Twitter is overwhelmingly positive. That coda!

I feel that if I could hear this song live it will leave me equally awestruck open-mouthed and with goosebumps as did that wonderful display of Fool to Cry last year in Berlin...sometimes I'm still mentally standing there in the Pit, literally gaping at Mick's vocal performance and I'd expect SSoH to have a similar effect when played live...
