Someone over on IORR posted those leaked songs, Depending on You and Get Close!

After only one listen without headphones I though meeeh, nothing new or exciting...but now I've been listening to both songs like 5 times, trying to figure out the lyrics and I absolutely LOVE them, oh my god!! That's some great stuff right there!! So so excited for the rest of the album!

And its also great how these two new tracks also have the Andrew Watt
sound so that it seems likely the whole album will have its own unique
identifiable vibe, which i know a lot of people wanted, for it to sound
like an album album, and not just a collection of disconnected tracks

Also, Sweet Sounds of Heaven has reportedly leaked too.
I don't have a link yet, but we may not need it. Its Wednesday,
the day the Stones have traditionally released singles to minimize
any impact they might have on the charts

I heard them both. First time = Meh .. Okaaaay.

After a few listens = Love em!

This album WILL have it's own vibe .. it already does. Buoyant, Uplifting .. BIG. Lots of melody and catchy as all get out!

Look forward to more. This thing is def 'fresh' sounding.

GC and DOY sound like 'Till The Next Time We Say Goodbye' Production with a little 'Dance Little Sister' guitar style Keith Richards guitar in GC.

However production is even bigger, ... new.. 'floaty'. Def a new refreshing sound and production. By refreshing Im not saying I was tired of their other production / recording styles .. It is just refreshing .. uplifting .. and the songs are verrry catchy in more ways than one. Got the two new ones locked in my brain and I'm singing em all the time to myself now Lol

Physical sales for Angry must be very good. Fingers crossed for a
Top 40 debut next Friday (Sept 22)

2) Regarding the strange ongoing trickle of youtube reactions, I've
discovered it is possible that the Stones have embargoed the
bulk of reactions until a specific strategic pre-planned date. That
would explain this otherwise unexplainable drought...

My favorite of the few that trickled today...

3) Yes, I am back on the bandwagon. Angry's gonna go Top 10 by
album release day. The Stones are employing the lesser-used "slow burn"
strategy, rather than the more common "smash and grab" approach.
They've got all these missing youtube reactions in their back pocket
and they'll let them fly when the timing is right...

4) Not on youtube yet, but the Stones official social media has been
justifiably hyping this vid from Columbia...

Thanks Rev for adding to the lyrics!

I think in Depending on You that line with the bar goes "Sharing a smoke on the steps of a bar", at least that's what I heard when listening to it again last night...

Also I read on IORR that the line with gamble is "I invented the gamble but I lost like a fool" and after re-listening I think that's correct

The line with the "I walk the city at midnight" in Get Close is the correct one, of course, howevwr I still think the next is "with the past strapped to my back"

By the way when listening to the songs for the first time I thought like ugh what bland and boring lyrics but now that we are puzzling them together and after listening to both songs about 7 times so far, I'm togally loving them and woke up with Get Close stuck on my mind this morning Cheesy

C everybody hears "past" so i should probably give in, but no. i don't
think mick would ever write that he's burdened by the past (even
though its sorta true in a way). mick would just never complain about it.
look at the "angry" vid, he's celebrating his past. no, mick currently is
burdened, as are we all, by the current state of the world, where
freedom itself (the stuff the Stones are made of) is facing extinction.
Its so bad right now that even mick needs a prayer. a guardian
angel. a good luck charm.

(quite a few, if not all, of the world's religions have at least some
practitioners who include in their observance the wearing of, within
pouches or clothing or jewelry, rolled-up prayer scrolls for protection)

That new NYT piece on them is one of the best articles I've read in a very long time...Mick confirming there will be another album and a tour...the sweet things Keith is saying about Mick...and especially the fact that Rollin Stone Blues actually is an acoustic cover with just Keith on guitar and him and Mick singing together, the bare inagination of getting to listen to this is bringing tears to my eyes, I cannot wait for October 20th!!

Slight confirmation of this conspiracy theory. I was watching a report on
a youtube channel with 300K subscribers. Very professional. And the
guy says "So the Stones have a new song released..." and his mouth
forms a "y" for "yesterday" but he stops himself and says "recently".

Remember, the Stones legally can easily block any yoube vid that uses
any of their material. Zep and the Beatles for example have done so
to excess, clearly ignoring the "fair use" principle. But the Stones have
always gone the opposite way and been very generous with what they
allow the reactors to use. Even when the Stones block a vid, they
almost never issue a copyright strike. So if a reactor gets a notice
that their Stones vid has been embargoed for one or two or three weeks,
and that therefore they should edit out any date info, no problem,
theyre just happy it didnt get blocked

The two additional songs are certainly growing on me after not being overly impressed on first listen

(thanks to the two folks who sent them to me, You know who you are)

'Depending on You' is quite lovely. the guitar solo and the keyboards are beautiful.

'Too young for dying and too old to lose' is a wonderful couplet for an 80 year old man to write.

No wonder the dog at the end was impressed.

Yes, it's absolutely beautiful only just reading about it, finally being able to listen to it will be incredible! Also the way Andrew Watt is describing in the new Rolling Stone issue how Mick and Keith were recording this song together...what a beautiful and sweet imagery:

Idk if the link to the picture will work (the Stones IG just posted it in their story) and there are some lyrics printed on a paper, among them Get Close and it clearly says "with the past strapped to my back" and there also are the lyrics for Bite My Head Off
