In the period since, the sum total of their activity as a band has been to attend four movie premieres  although three quarters of the band also took Alan Dunn out for a lunch to mark his long service. Not really. Between previous tours, they at least (most of 'em anyway) kept reasonably active with outside projects.

Mick's total inactivity of late simply isnt like him at all. During previous periods of Stones inactivity, he's made solo records and kept busy with various movie production work.

Very odd.

(They didnt really tour for 2 years either, when you think of it. 15 months, then a 7 month break before doing just 30 shows in 3 months in Europe. The 2007 tour was effectively a make-up leg with a few extras caused by the fact that they had to cancel so many European shows in 2006)

My peeps have no comment on this latest rumor. When I get notice to re-up my fanclub membership ($195 this time folks??) then I will think somethings on..........

Well, in summer 2004 they managed to get enough lemmings to cough up $100 for a renewal membership with the carrot of pre-sale access because so many of them wet their collective pants at the part of the offer which clearly promised nothing more than the chance to buy tickets 'should the band announce shows' - even though anyone with any sense knew there were no plans for a tour.

It's technically not false advertising. Just a crafty bit of marketing to take advantage of the desperate and gullible.

In 2005 the renewal sales pitch was presales access, which went on to specifically mention the proposed ticket limits for presale purchases for stadium, arena and theatre shows - so thousands signed up hoping to get tickets for theatre shows, but none were ever announced.  So the members then 'settled' for pre sale access to arena and stadium shows instead, which were often no better that what they could have got through free venue or sponsor presales or even sometimes on public sales.

May as well go even further and promise something else equally pointless this time around!

Ticket drops are nothing new.
"Sold out" can be a promoter and/or artist ruse.

Great seats to many shows are often held back and can be had at the last minute...
