interesting historical side note: donovan's "hurdy gurdy man" had jonesie on bass, page on guitar and bonzo on drums.

Incorrect: Hurdy Gurdy Man is one of the Donovan sessions that doesn't feature Jimmy Page.

my "troubadour" double CD begs to differ...it lists jimmy, jonsie and bozo as playing on the track. if i'm wrong, so is epic records!

I'm almost certain you are correct!

I classify "In through the out door" as 1 of the worst albums EVER by a major band.

The sleeve notes are incorrect, then.

The only person who absolutely insistent on Pages involvement on the track is Donovan himself – he claims that the track went on to influence Led Zeppelins interest in Celtic music.

The only future member of Led Zeppelin present was John Paul Jones, who was involved in most of Donovan’s mid-60’s sessions.

As for the guitar, it’s supposedly a guy called Alan Parker: the drums are played by someone called Clem Cattini.

If it’s any consolation though, Page does play the lead on Sunshine Superman.

Magical Mystery Tour isnt really an album, though - it was an EP. They released it as an LP in the US and fleshed it out with A and B sides from earlier in 1967.

Far from being bad, its mostly brilliant.

another vote here for physical graffiti, though the fourth album comes quite close...

dont know who said they disliked the third album cover, but i always liked it, with the wheel...

i didnt have a problem with plant's voice, but some of the lyrics - yuk! ("yesterday i saw you kissing tiny flowers" - this is a great way to ruin a song). he does get kudos for tackling the lotr in ramble on, though...

that "hey, hey, what can you do" track is on the four cd box set with the crop circles...

count me as another fan of in through the out door, but after that, the wheels fall off the wagon, imo.

congrats to htm for winning gazza's quiz (the buildings are where the waiting on a friend video was filmed)...

i know the doors get a bad rap around here, but the soft parade isnt nearly as bad as some make it out to be (but then again, neither is dirty work). face dances has its strong moments, too (but then, i like who by numbers alot, and think quadrophenia kicks tommy's a$$, neither of which are majority opinions). gazza said what needed to be said re: the magical mystery tour. chalk it up to different strokes, i guess...
