Mick's trapdoor-intro during Not Fade Away was only done for the first few shows of the tour - including the Giants Stadium shows which were just 2 weeks into the tour - after which he just walked onstage from the right hand side.

When they dropped the trapdoor from the start of the show on the rest of the 97-98 shows, I think they then used it for "Sympathy" instead. They used the routine for "Out of Control" on the No Security tour.

Not sure why this thread is discussing potential concert openers anyway. The songs listed in the poll are all opening songs from albums - I presumed thats what the "best openers" referred to

I saw The Stones in '72, & for the life of me, I can't remember the song they opened with, it was total chaos, people rushing the stage, & it was so damn hot, that Mick threw a bucket of water on the crowd in the front, but Exile was just released, & I keep thinking of Rocks Off, that was the opening song on the album, so that would be a great opener for me, but then again Mick was younger then, I can't expect him to be like that today, running, dancing, prancing all over the stage.
When The Stones played Toronto in '66, a Toronto band, The Ugly Ducklings opened for them, & they copied The Stones, even opening with "Everybody needs somebody to Love" the same as The Stones, & there was a blond haired guy copying Brian, The Ducklings were a garage band, & at the time, Mick's favorite Canadian group, they were my fav. groups from Toronto in the late 60's.
