I think someone has just signed his own death warrant..... He isn't scared.. He has Paul, Ringo , and George to protect him. Besides, he will just start crooning "Love Love me Do" to Parmy.... he's evidently oblivious to those four chilling words guaranteed to give any man the shits.... "live in fear, fucker!" That's right! Poor Bucky has no fucking clue, lmao!
Gazza - without a doubt, you were thought of numerous times last week. It wouldn't surprise me if you told me your ears were ringing off the sides of your head...that's how many times I said out loud and to myself, "Holy Shit, Gazza would DIE if he were here..".
Just a few hi-lites, G. - just enough to make you slap your knee and curse the miles between you and Memphis...
Graceland offers visitors the opportunity to have unlimited access to the grounds (for a price-tag of $68 per person) - and as you can see, Bob & Rick really made themselves at home! Nothing says, "Kiss my ass - I paid for this - I'm sitting wherever the fuck I want!", like these two...My most favorite part of the mansion tour: The Dining Room - there's just something about crystal & china & chandeliers that sparkle, that sends me into a tizzy...it doesn't matter WHO owned it at one time, lolPoopie's favorite section: The Hall of Gold - 3 Grammy's & all the gold records - very impressive...(LadyJ's gonna love this...) 'Photo Approval' before I sent the pics last week. He thought I was nuts to send 'em. I think he's nuts to try and come up with a good reason why I shouldn't!Directly behind us in the Meditation Garden - Elvis' grave. Sorry if it looks like we're having a good time - but I have to admit, it's not a somber atmosphere in the least. I believe people go there to celebrate his life - not to grieve it.As hard as I tried to get a great picture of the front gates during the day - it is almost impossible to do! There are so many people trying to do the same thing - there's no avoidance to getting "somebody" in your photo. That, and the gates are always "opened" and the effect just isn't there. Plus!!! The driveway is literallly 10-15 feet from the street. As badly as I wanted to get "this picture" - I value my life much more than to step into 6 lanes of traffic on Elvis Presley Boulevard....But.... You know me... If there's a will - you know I'm gonna find a fuckin' way!...and I did!
After stomping down Beale Street, having dinner and hitting a few Blues bars...We made our way back to The Heartbreak Hotel (located on Lonely Street..oh yes, it really is named that!) across the street from Graceland - and I noticed there wasn't a soul around - traffic was minimal at best - AND THE GATES WERE CLOSED! This is what transpired next:me: Open the trunk and let me get my camerashim: Why?me: Just open the trunk...him: (As he opens the trunk) What are you doing?me: (Gabs the cameras) Follow mehim: What?me: FOLLOW ME! (as I begin to head for EP Blvd.)him: Where in the fuck are you going?me: Across the streethim: Are you nuts!?me: (silent - I ignore that comment)him: Pam! You can't go over there, you'll get arrested!me: Watch me!my girlfriend: Wait! I'm coming, too!!her husband: Aww fuck... you women are crazy!him: Goddammit!!! Well, you'll be happy to know we were not arrested - but we did trigger the attention of security that met up with us almost immediately! They were very understanding in allowing us to take some pictures and sternly warned us not to try jumping over the wall. I can't begin to tell you the instant "don't-even-try-it-glare" my girlfriend and I received from our husbands, lmao....We spent a good 30-45 minutes at the front gates - all by ourselves - no one bumping into us - no loud traffic - as we walked along and read hundreds of messages left on the bricks, the walls and even the light posts... ...it's a tradition that still holds true as women will still write their names and phone numbers at the gates for Elvis to call them. It's amazing.Tomorrow - I'll give you the run-down on Sun Studio!
