(Friedman's claim that the Stones traditionally play club shows when they release a new album is nonsense. The ones they've done were to warm up for a tour. Mick's absence doesn't bode well for a live appearance, but here's hoping we might get something)

Some American interviewer guy from CBS posted on the 5th October a pic with Keith from Electric Lady Studios and said he talked there with Keith that day. Mick posted that vid with his new harp collection on the 3rd from a room that looked a lot like a backstage room of a studio...so personally, some friends and I have been musing for days that Mick and Keith are in the studio again together but we thought it was to work some more on those other songs they have been talking about...however, maybe they are rehearaing for that club gig^^

Hopefully they'll 'mark' the album release with a live performance.

People over on IORR say the Racket on Thursday...lucky people in NYC, they should do this in London too, seeing that they are a UK band and Hackney is in London LOL

It absolutely is.

Maybe they'll tape a few new songs for Fallon's Thursday show, as (at the minute) there's no Stones involvement billed for that day.

Either that, or maybe it'll be filmed as part of the upcoming documentary (see the 'We got a new Stones album' thread)

Hope some fans can get in either way as opposed to the celeb bunfight / fake fans bunfight that seems to be the norm with these sort of things.

I doubt they've rehearsed many songs. Maybe they'll just play a small amount with retakes for the cameras.

I would be shocked, for many reasons, if Bill plays with them. I hope the rumor bears out, but I just can't see it happening.

New-ish venue owned by AEG.

It used to be the Highline Ballroom.

It's  claiimed that they each walked in, wearing very tight but  crisp white shorts, with the likes of Brois B and Emma R, then looked well confused for a while.

Oh to be in that club... Hopefully we'll get some snippets

Looks like it was a decent night from the pics and vids on social media.

Tony Visconti wasn't happy though judging by his post on fb. Didn't even bother to see the actual show in the end.

Full version of SSoH...Mick is incredible...his voice sounds exactly like on the record oh my god...I cannot wait for the tour next year, even if I hate flying and haven't been on a plane since 2012, if I have to take one to get to the US and see the Stones, I bloody well will...

Those lucky few people who got in last night wow...it seems like it was being filmed, hope to see a DVD or the songs as a bonus on the documemtary or something

Amazing - although in a way not surprising - that for much of that video you can hear people yakking away as if the band who are onstage are merely getting in the way of their conversation. Its the Rolling Stones playing in a club and yet so many people there are only present because theyre celebrities or have connections to a record label. It may as well be me and Voodoo onstage having a farting contest.

Woke up to this earlier and what a fantastic way to start the day, I had literal goosebumps because of Mick and Gaga's vocal performance! Mick's voice is incredible, I didn't think that after getting to hear Fool To Cry live last year in Berlin I could be any more touched but nope, he's proven me wrong and this is only a recording!! Imagine getting to hear this live oh my god! Also I love how much they are enjoying themselves getting to be on stage together, playing their new songs, so great to see them all smiling and happy <3

Totally agree, Gaga is as real as you can get, every single interview or so I have ever watched with her, and especially her Netflix docu was very impressive, she doesn't try to make things look nice or pretend for a better image, she was open and incredibly honest there and I really respect her a lot for that

Of course every celeb and their PR team is trying tobpaint a certain public image of them but I don't feel that with Gaga anything seems faked as compared to others

You wot? Why would you assume that just because someone has a different opinion to you that "its her message you don't like?" I don't follow her career or her views on anything really so I don't know about her work with lgbtq+ kids and people. If she is trying to help them deal with bigotry, then I'm on the same page as her and well done to her for using her platform positively and for a cause I believe in. But that doesn't mean I like her songs (the few I have heard) or her voice. Whether she plays no instruments or 100, again makes no difference to me. It's like Eddie Van Halen. People can rave all they want about his skills to me, I just don't like his guitar playing. Madonna is another. Unbearable shite. I see a lot of posing from Lady Gaga or Stephanie or whatever you want to call her, and I don't like her voice. It's about opinions.

He really gives some great interviews. His bit about rock'n'roll being a physical form which, therefore, lends itself to youth is just great. A book I would love to read is one he writes about music. His understanding of the history of music is fascinating and always insightful.
