The Stones in New York next week - TV interviews Sunday, Wednesday & Friday

Note - This Story is Unconfirmed - but this piece comes from Roger Friedman in his showbiz411.com column :

I’m told the Rolling Stones will come to New York next week to promote their excellent new album, “Hackney Diamonds.”

Each of the principals — Jagger, Richards, and Woods — will appear on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show separately, sources say. They will not be playing music, at least as of now. This makes sense because Fallon interviewed them live from London a few weeks ago when the album was unveiled.

I am told that there is a 99% chance the Stones will put on a live show in New York for fans next week. “It will be a small club, like a nightclub,” says an insider. The Apollo would make sense. I guess Terminal 5 would, too.

The Stones are famous for playing small clubs when they’re launching an album. They did it years ago in Toronto, and Chicago. They’ve done it twice in Los Angeles in the last decade. It’s New York’s turn!

The Stones know they have something special in “Hackney Diamonds.” I just hope I Heart Radio and other corporate radio entities will give it some radio play. The album is stuffed with hit singles. Why not go back to the old ways of radio just for this release? It may be the Stones’ last one.

Ronnie will be on 'The Tonight Show' on Wednesday 18th October

Keith will be a guest on Friday 20th

(Friedman's claim that the Stones traditionally play club shows when they release a new album is nonsense. The ones they've done were to warm up for a tour. Mick's absence doesn't bode well for a live appearance, but here's hoping we might get something)

Some American interviewer guy from CBS posted on the 5th October a pic with Keith from Electric Lady Studios and said he talked there with Keith that day. Mick posted that vid with his new harp collection on the 3rd from a room that looked a lot like a backstage room of a studio...so personally, some friends and I have been musing for days that Mick and Keith are in the studio again together but we thought it was to work some more on those other songs they have been talking about...however, maybe they are rehearaing for that club gig^^

It absolutely is.

Maybe they'll tape a few new songs for Fallon's Thursday show, as (at the minute) there's no Stones involvement billed for that day.

Either that, or maybe it'll be filmed as part of the upcoming documentary (see the 'We got a new Stones album' thread)

Hope some fans can get in either way as opposed to the celeb bunfight / fake fans bunfight that seems to be the norm with these sort of things.

I doubt they've rehearsed many songs. Maybe they'll just play a small amount with retakes for the cameras.

Man it sure would be amazing if they filmed and released this maybe as bonus material for the documentary, like they could make different versions, a basic one with just the docu and a special edition that includes the concert footage

I truly hope some fans can get it, at least I bet on Matt Lee getting in lol, seeing he's friends with Ronnie, so we can at least watch his videos on YT

But would he actually fly if he was just there as a guest? I don't think he'd bother with it...what if Darryl just has other commitments that he couldn't call off for some reason? So it would be most natural to ask Bill to jump in, seeing that it would be weird af if Andy Watt played the bass during a live show and Keith cannot play two instruments at the same time when on stage xD

Mick said during the London press interviews last month that he had to gag Ronnie when they were finishing the new album as he can't keep a secret

Looks like Ronnie has just let the cat out of the bang regarding tonight's club show as he let slip how good 'Bite My Head Off' sounded when they were rehearsing it
