I couldn't disagree more about Bugliosi. That guy was a fantastic lawyer - which is much more of a rarity than most people realize.
Criminal convictions are easy to get in general. Very easy - most prosecutors are mediocre, bottom barrel lawyers, and convictions are still 99%. In those terms, Manson's conviction was NOT easy to get at all - first of all, he didn't even kill anyone he was charged with murdering, and wasn't even there when they were murdered. Manson also had the most obstructive lawyers in California. Bugliosi had to be persuasive, diligent, believable, and tenacious. It was a fantastic performance by him.
His insights to the OJ trial, and the fact that he didn't hesitate for a second to expose Clark and Darden as the retards they were, show his principles and belief in logic, reason, and hard work.
As to the Warren Commission, usually - not always, just usually - anyone who criticizes its findings are the type of person who believe the Moon landing was faked, the terrorist attacks of 9/11/01 were an inside job, Obama forged his birth certificate, the Allies started WWII, Lazarus rose from the dead, etc.
