For me, it's a great document of my childhood discovery of the Stones, despite grown-ups' complaints about the overdubs and edited songs. At age 12, I used to play sides of GYYYO intersticed with sides of Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits, like they were a 4-record set. Played them till my parents hollered.
The magic is all in the performances, the song selections from the 1969 setlist, and the added sweetening. Perhaps the greatest live album, despite the parts that aren't live.
Second greatest live album: Dig the New Breed, by The Jam. Try it if you don't believe me.
SFTD has two Keith solos from different MSG nights, yes? Hence the editing complaints, since there was rightfully only one solo each night.
See the Apple Acetate bootleg of GYYYO for a more stripped down version of the LP.
