The Japanese super deluxe edition contains the 3 CDs in SHM!

It's only $154.60 USD instead of $299 by Amazon, not sure if in the Amazon ítem the mentioned "vinyl" is the 7" single of the entire album

I recommend the Japanese version based on the excellent sound quality and mastering of their SHM CDs of the Stones and other artists. Getting much more for less here.

Any UICY-Japan CD, even if not SHM, is a better bet for good mastering than any American version. UICY Elton John is astoundingly better than its US competition. They're putting some engineering pride into it over there - and I suspect some love for the music.

Clearly no interest in polishing up a few leftover songs this time (even though this release has been talked about now for a couple of years).

Five songs from the Roundhouse is a shitty way to release a hitherto uncirculated soundboard recording. Couldnt they have added the alternate takes on to disc 1 and put the Roundhouse gig in full on disc 2, with Leeds making up disc 3? How fuckin' difficult could that have been?

Its not as if we're getting some kind of sonic upgrade on the released album - its the 2009 remaster theyre using, according to this site - http://www.superdeluxeedition.com/news/the-rolling-stones-announce-sticky-finger...

And dont get me started on paying silly money to get two uncirculated songs from Leeds and a two-song DVD of a concert that runs for 40 minutes.

Any chance we could borrow Dylan, Springsteen or Elvis' archive people for a few weeks to show the Stones how to do a vaults release in a way that doesn't offer very little for a lot of money?

PS - in case you were getting excited about the 'alternate version' of CYHMK - you might want to sit down. It clocks in at 3:24 (almost four minutes shorter than the released version)

The extended version of 'Bitch' is 5:52 though, which is interesting at least.

Just saw this.

i-tunes has the 3-CD version - ie, including the full Leeds show - for a pretty reasonable £19.99.

Looks like I'll be going the download route this time!
