Does anyone think they'll finally release "Cocksucker Blues" on this set?

I'd personally be amazed if they do. We seem to live in an age now where people get offended over anything and you can just imagine how much of a fuss stupid journalists would make of this, whilst ignoring or being totally oblivious to the reason behind why they recorded the song to begin with.

Whereas 40 years ago the band would have had a bit of a giggle over it, I doubt the latter day more corporate-conscious, PC-version of Stones, Inc.would welcome that sort of coverage.

It might be lovely if Bill W were involved?

There's no requirement for MT to dominate but hopefully he could pull a lead out of the bag?

A prob may be that there may not be (even ever) a ditty as saucy, comical and groovy as Brown Sugar. Butis there a kick-&-spittle within the Trident Mixes, or elsewhere, in which there is a pumpy nugget that can be tuned up fairly well?

'Moo' Li' Mi' should be left as it is?

There is no especial need, shirley, to involve the Franco-ist can/tin imagery.

It would be grand if trousers were explored visually.

Perhaps it's necessary to take tracks like 'Travelling Man' and add a humour that was lacking / not fully formed in the early '70s?.

James Karnbach (VideoJames) mentioned on IORR that

he has the videos of the long-missing 22nd April 1971 TOTP performances of Wild Horses and Bitch and offered them to the Stones for use on this project

another show from the 71 tour was filmed aside from the Marquee gig. He's been trying to persuade them to use that one for the DVD as well as the Marquee show (which they will be using)

This project has the potential to be more interesting than we first thought it might be. Hopefully now they have access to footage that pretty much no one has seen, they'll make the most of it.

Here are audio only recordings (with a photo montage from the show) of 'Bitch' and 'Wild Horses' from the 'Top of the Pops' broadcast of 22nd April 1971. Sound quality isnt too good - obviously someone's just taped it off their TV set with the sort of primitive equipment which was just starting to become available in the early 70's - but it's nice to have.

Thanks to Cristiano Radke from Brazil, for sending me the link on facebook.

As mentioned above, we're hoping that the Stones will use James Karnbach's copy of the long-lost video of the performances for the upcoming Sticky Fingers release.

I think if we were getting this in March, we'd have known by now.

Maybe they'll do what they did with the Exile reissue and put it out around the anniversary of the release date of the original album - which for Sticky Fingers would be late April.

Havent heard anything re: an imminent release date myself

I had heard that the release date was April 23rd but we'd have a press release by now...had heard some of them were going to be in a studio last month to polish up some outtakes but don't think that happened either! I got another strange piece of news from my friend who works for Eagle Rock, he says the Stones have only authorized them to release two titles a year in the new From The Vault series...WTF?!?!?!

I know Mojo. So many years wasted. Waiting for Robert. Go make some music of your own............Exile and PG are two,of the greatest albums ever made. But the Stones did a far more respectable deluxe issue of Exile than Jimmy did of PG. That's just a waste of time.

I don't, actually. Having the release near the tour adds press coverage. That's all I expect them to do about it.
