I´ll be damned then.its god damn boring tour and idiots are paying for it.Look 15 years behind and you got lot more for your money.
Have you seen a show in 2012-2013?
I don't mean listened to a boot or watched a video?
Have you seen a show since 06-07?
I have and loved it.
And if they return to the United States, I'll be "an idiot" and go to a show.
Had this discussion last night with some ardent Stones fans.
We've been to so many shows over the years, we're jaded.
These shows, especially in the Far East, are geared for "first timers" and they want to hear the warhorses. They last played Asia in 2006. They played there previously in 2003. Aside from gigs like Glastonbury, there are few first timers at Stones shows anymore if the audiences ages are any yardstick. Especially at those prices. Anyone who is telling you otherwise is kidding themselves. And they have more than ten warhorses.
A greatest hits type show isnt unreasonable - but the same 10-12 'hits' at every show for the last decade? Pure laziness. They could pool that 10-12 from a list of 18-20 very well known 'classics', rotating one or two of them in and out of the set per night and no one would complain. Minor tinkering required to keep it interesting.
And a band of the Stones' greatness really shouldnt have to tailor a show in a way that they're someone's personal jukebox. After 52 years, theyve earned the right to play what the hell they like.
I cant grasp how someone can pay $1000 or so to see a band who have sold 250 million records, yet we're supposed to believe that these same people theyre aiming the show at only know about ten of their songs and either cant be bothered or cant afford to buy any of their albums.
I don't disagree with you.
And should they return to the United States, I will fork out money to see them again.
But that's just me and I make no apologies for the way I feel.
There is no other band for me. This is it.
