I think you might have misinterpreted what I meant, Revvy. They can fill stadiums anywhere if the prices are set in an affordable manner as they have enough fans or casual fans to do so.
Its getting harder to expect people to pay £200 to sit at the back of a football stadium and watch a video screen on a half second delay with questionable sound. As it should be.

On this we agree, Gazza. I certainly do not think the economy, in the US (or other select parts of the world) could support a stadium jaunt such as they have had in the past... BUT here and there, doing shows, with a 1/3 the amount of stadium gigs as the past stadium jaunts with affordable ticket prices could be doable. Instead of two or three shows in my area like I had with say Voodoo Lounge we would have 1. tickets would be a "fair" price in three tiers...say 50.00...75... and 100.00 tickets and they could pull off 25-30 stadium gigs in the USA. I still think going over 20 shows in one shot is starting to be a thing of the past with their age and all. They will tour in Spurts... from here on out doing anywhere from 10-20 shows at a spurt and take sufficient breaks between (but not tooooo long a break ...they would be not smart to get too rusty again at their age...hehe)

They could probably do a European tour that would have some stadium shows (and festival dates) mixed in with arena shows. I think that's more likely next summer as the plan to do a series of arena dates there in October/November 2013 seemed to fall apart due to cold feet on the part of promoters outside of the more lucrative markets of Scandinavia and Germany.
Putting a single stadium stage together for even half a dozen cities and transporting it around Europe for six weeks or so makes far more sense financially than carting it 12,000 miles for two or three shows in Australia and India. In the past, when the Stones did stadium tours they would have as many as three stages constructed which would 'hop' each other around Europe or America for the duration as each would take about a week to assemble, use, take down and move.
