Not sure what I think about these " festival" dates...last year was more of a "hometown" thing to me..."finally" playing the whatever festival it was...but this seems a bit wierd...maybe because they are festivals and there are numerous points of logistics involved and the bottom line ticket sales as well...that they had to be confirmed and announced...I don't know...
I think they could pull off another 14 On Fire and hit some spots in Europa with no problem...let the band take it easy...skate on thru the continent...hit NA
once again...a small fan fair in the UK and end it off with a secret gig at a new "Marquee Club"...I know I am dreaming...but that would be such a great and fitting end to such a great band...i know the end is near...if i am wrong...I will be happy to be wrong...i just want it to end not with a death...not with a break-up...not with a fizzle...but with dignaty

the festival organisers have to work to their own agenda and so this is probably why some shows get confirmed before the 'regular' tour shows the Stones are doing. The tour will be a mixture of festivals, large stadium shows and arenas.
By doing it that way, the Stones will probably be able to do the entire tour using just one stadium stage and one arena stage (they wont be using their own stage for festivals). Gone are the days when they'd have about three stadium stages which 'hop' over each other across a continent, taking about five or six days to assemble and another two or three to be taken down and transported to the next show where it was needed.
So, in other words, when you also factor in things like no opening acts at their own gigs, they're doing this tour on the cheap. A fact that is of course reflected in the ticket pricing.
