Some real beauties have already been mentioned, and picking bad tunes from '85 onwards is like shooting fish in a barrel, so here's mine from the golden era.

1. Sweet Black Angel - If it weren't on Exile, would you really like it?
2. Something Happened To Me Yesterday - While I like a kazoo solo as much as the next guy....
3. Gomper - hey, "sing this all together" was already mentioned
4. Star Star - Studio version on GHS has no muscle. It kills live, but on the album it's a lame, weak closer and besides, "Can You Hear The music" was already mentioned.
5. Streets Of Love - I had a hard toime picking a fifth, being an Emotional Rescue fan and all, so this steaming turd will do - an embarassment to the canon and no, time has not been kind to it.

I'll go with the last four tracks of "A Bigger Bang" -- why, oh, why couldn't it have stopped sensibly at track 12?! -- plus "Suck on the Jugular." "Brand New Car" itches for inclusion, too. Mick at his most mindlessly glandular.

Basically, I give an automatic pass to cuts like "Winning Ugly" and "Back to Zero" and "Indian Girl" (which I happen to like on its merits), as Mick at least put some effort into saying Something. "Sweet Neo Con," however, is just irredeemable.

I recently looked at Jon Pareles's NY Times review of "Steel Wheels" (I sometimes get bored and peruse Nexis; I'm a geek), and that's the one glaring thing he noticed from the (comparatively short) break between "Dirty Work" and SW: the increasing meaninglessness of Mick's lyrics. It's been a problem ever since...

Really hard to entirerly toss a Stones song, they pretty much all have something I like, the melody, the guitar, rythm, etc...

Except maybe :
- She Saw Me Coming - shameful, remember that guy who was hanging outside the studio when ABB was being mixed and got "treated" to it by Don Was...wow, talk about a letdown !
- Infamy sucks very badly too, even worse than Keith's "Big Enough"
- Suck on the Jugular
- Send it to Me
- Back to Zero

Good reminder about Mick's abominable lyrics of late, ABB was certainly the nadir of his writing, can't get any worse for sure.

I actually thought his lyrics on ABB showed two extremes. On the positive side, some welcome 'mature' relationship songs (Let Me Down Slow, Biggest Mistake, Laugh I Nearly Died - the latter of which may well have been written for 'Alfie' as some of the songs definitely were) and some which were amongst the most embarrassingly infantile drivel of his career and which sounded unbelievably infantile coming from an intelligent man in his 60's (Neocon, Oh No Not You Again)
