Reading some posts at the Globe web site from folks who were there last night....
Here's one which is dead on right.......I was right in back of this guy, who was
holding Wolf in the crowd....

"I've seen the future or rock and roll, and it is the J. Geils Band."
The band killed it last night, absolutely KILLED it!
I last saw the J. Geils band in concert Dec 31, 1981 (?). I've seen many hundreds of concerts since, including some historic epic shows from Bruce Springsteen & the E-Street Band, U2, and many more. And no show has surpassed what I saw with the J. Geils Band that night almost 30 years ago.
Until now.
Last night's show was epic, one for the ages.
Wolf was in fine form. The band was tight. And everyone looked like they were having a fun time, the band and fans alike.
I flew into Boston yesterday, got to the House of Blues at 1pm, and through a good turn of events (good Karma!) I was front and center, right up at the stage.
The show (not surprisingly) was high energy and a HOUSE PARTY!
My personal highlight was when the Peter Wolf stood on top of the railing right in front of me and leaned into the crowd as if he were going to fall forward, and I reached out, grabbed his hand, and propped him up so he wouldn't swan dive into the crowd and break his neck! Wolf sang like this, balanced on the railing leaning toward the crowd, singing, with me holding him up, for what seemed to me like 2-3 minutes. How cool is that, to be part of the show myself! I'm just glad I didn't drop the Woofa Goofa! (That would have been a historic D'oh).
Speaking of Wolf, where does he get his energy? On stage, he's like Springsteen, Bono and Mick Jagger, at their peaks, wrapped up into one guy, and 100x!
But all in all, it was the rocking and bluesy music, and the band looking like they were having the best time ever, that made this show for me. A show of historic and epic proportions!
