threads dont disappear but they can certainly become inaccessible due to some technical fault. Its happened before, in fact it happened only last week - (see the "what happened to jb" thread on page 2)

If we close a thread, we'll tell you why.

there's no sinister reason for it, and the last type of thread I'd ever close would be a Veterans Day thread. (I dont change that avatar each year at this time for no reason!)

the veterans / armistice thread is still there, if thats the one you're referring to,
