Don't know how credible you think Elton John is, but I did read this:
He was talking about "Something" by George Harrison. Then he said "You know when a record starts on the radio, and it's great, and you think, 'Oh, what is this? What is this? What is this?' The only other record I ever felt that way about was Brown Sugar by the Rolling Stones". Both songs gave him "chills".
This was from a Rolling Stone article in early 2002.
Yes
That's what I'm talking about. Sometimes when an artist covers a song I don't know if they are covering it Because
a. They THINK THEY CAN DO BETTER, AS GOOD OR A DIFFERENT SOUND TO SELL A PRODUCT
OR b. they were told to do it
or c. They like it and what to pay
respect or d.they want to get some off the money a great song has brought someone else. :funny
I like to hear about Stones Songs like Checkers and Elton John did, as being reported as sayin this is a "Song I personally like".
We all got favorite songs, I'm sure for interest and example, wonder what Iggy Pop's favorite song is? Is it A Stones Song?
I used Iggy as an example cause he just came to mind.
