Those of you who know me are aware I have been concert-deprived because of my career, living overseas since the late 90s.  Well, last night at the Shelburne (VT) museum made up for it just a bit. My son and I got there two hours early, and we sat down front row center.   Luckily for me a woman with a big camera was right behind me and got these two shots I've asked Voodoo to post.

Seeing a show from the front is a real unique experience, being able to see the artist's face and body language.  Fogerty was in a great mood, and played the Creedence songbook from Travellin' Band to Proud Mary, plus select bits from the new one (no political songs though) and unfortunately only one (Hot Rod Heart) from the excellent Blue Moon Swamp.  He did the title cut from the obscure Blue Ridge Rangers album too.   The show was two and a half hours long and I didn't look at my watch once.  That's when you know you're having a good time.

Good for you Zack. I've seen Fogerty a few times and he does always put on an excellent show.

He changes clothes less often than Keith.  That's the same shirt as when I saw him from the 2nd row last fall (thank you fan club).

I wish!  Then I could borrow some of his awesome axes.  In addition to the gold top in the picture, he had two other beautiful Les Pauls, including a sunburst that looked really old and a glistening black one.  He had these other two that vaguely looked like strats, but weren't -- they might have been custom made. One was bright blue and the other bright red.  Looked like sisters because the tuning pegs were the same.  There was also the baseball bat of course for Centerfield.  I think he wears the same flannel shirt every night to help sell the "authentic flannel shirt" for sale @ $60 in the concession booth. 

My big question with JCF was why he needed three other guitarists when he's so good himself and has such chops.  One played mostly acoustic, mandolin or banjo, but two others seemed superfluous.  One was Billy Burnette, a guy I think played in Fleetwood Mac for a few albums after Buckingham left in the 90s.

His drummer is Kenny Aronoff who was Mellancamp's drummer for years and is fantastic.
