Thanks Ade and Gazza. We appreciate the supportive words.  My fingers are crossed for my husband.  I haven't earned a dime in over 10 years due to illness and my lack of skills.  I am not employable. So this all rides on my husband.   I am so grateful for the friends I've met on this board.  I can't thank you all enough for the care and kindness you offer.

peace n love,
Martha

AC Borgata show August 16, 2008.

It's a very small venue, well organized, no bag searches, just some ushers scanning tickets. Liquor beer & wine served and allowed inside, very calm atmosphere, not many rockers in the mostly older crowd with some younger folks mixed in. When I asked if they were fans, HELL YES, so Bob's music is not an exclusive 60's generational poet-profit thing, teens and tweens dig his music now! Bob came out at 8:20 and was wearing the same black leather hat and outfit he wore when I saw him last year in the city! Bob did not smile or change his expression the entire night, very deadpan serious face and I was in the 6th row so I studied him! Very understated stage set-up, no stage gimmicks, just the lights. Some highlights for me were WATCHING THE RIVER FLOW< MR TAMABOURINE MAN> YOU GO YOUR WAY & ILL GO MINE>VISIONS OF JOHANNA> HIGHWAY 61>AINT TALKIN> LIKE A ROLLING STONE>WATCHTOWER. I didnt see him play guitar, he was all keyboards and harmonica.

OK I'll probably take some shit for saying this, but BOB's voice is totally shot, he cant reach the low notes or the high notes, and he sounds like he's ready to choke his throat is so overused. The songs are great and stand the test of time, and the band was tight, but for the love of God BOB needs some back-up singers to help him out! It's all right, I'm only bleeding, the martyr syndrome perhaps? Yeah he's a legend, but his voice is getting worse each time I see him play and maybe its time he starts interviewing some younger singers to help him out.

With all that said, I enjoyed the 2 hour show 100%, it was a great way to spend a Saturday night! THANKS BOB!

Aw shit, Martha, sorry to hear that. Hope something comes up for you guys soon. I hope you get to attend at least one or two local shows.

Thanks for the good wishes too, guys. Bob put on a great show Saturday night - better than when I saw him at City Center in winter of 2006. Great setlist and he was really engaged with the audience.

I had a sublime, relaxing couple of days "down the shore." Wish it could have been a longer stay.

Thanks GTRM.  You are so kind. I know you are pulling for us and that really means a lot.  I am praying Chris finds employment in weeks not months.  We aren't in a good spot and need a real paycheck asap.  It's hard on me since I cannot earn any money, even in the interm, to sit with this uncertainty. I am stressssssed!!!  Yet, I am working on keeping the anxiety low, this is  a real challenge let me tell you. So again thanks for your care and concern.  It helps a lot.  Better seen on weed!

I'm so glad you got a great Bob show.  Makes me smile for ya!   Grin

We have decided, (weather and my health permitting> I've been experiencing altitude sickness again  Sad  ) to try for the Aspen/Snowmass show on Saturday the 30th.  I hope we can make that one.  We have sold 4 of the shows we can't make it too, with 2 to still go, and our fingers are crossed that they will sell in time.  Kansas City and Vegas are not getting bites.  Park City sold immediately, we had over 12 calls for those tix.

Bitch> I guess you haven't seen Bob in a long time.  His "voice" is not like it was when he was 30 it is very gravelly now.  I had to get over that when I first started seeing him again in 1999.  I don't think anything of that now.  I focus on the delivery, his impish behaviors and that incredible band...not to mention the set-list from show to show.  I'm sorry to hear you had trouble with his voice.  Try checking him out on his Theme Time Radio Hour if you haven't already done so.  He speaks very clearly and is exceptional in the content and delivery, it's his baby I'm certain.

Rock on everyone.

peace n love,
Martha

Thanks so much gc.  I am a bundle of nerves today and need to hear supportive words so THANK YOU!  I do need someone I can lean on.

And Bob picked his axe back up for a song.  I know how much that excites many of you.  EnJoy!!!!

peace out,

Martha, I'd love to see another Bob show. I've seen "the Boss" once & frankly, that's enough but Bobby? I need to see again. Let's hope he leads with his axe.

And glad I could cheer you up. I was concerned when I'd seen you hadn't posted for a few days.

It's sunny in Colorado for Bob's show tonight.  I just called the venue and learned he's gonna split his set in two taking a short break in between so the show will end later.  He takes the stage at 7pm and they told me they paid him LOTS of money to have him place a break in his set.  LOL  So I guess that's the deal.  They expect around 10,000 to show up. I am not feeling very well today and am nervous about going to the show.  I dislike these festival events but need to see Bob and more importantly need to HEAR him tonight.  I may not be able to see anything, which is discouraging.  I much prefer the seated small venue shows.  At least I can get to this show though.  Hope I get these 2 songs, I Believe In You, and Beyond The Horizon.  But I'll take whatever Bob dishes to us.

That's my report for now.

Oh, and there's fires burning around us which has the Denver skyline so hazy you can barely see the cityscape.  The ozone is bad and I have been sneezing and coughing from it.  The fires are closer to Aspen than here so I hope it will not be bad at the show.

I may text you Gary from the show. Wink

xxoo,
Martha
