Keef on Howard Stern today (or tomorrow)

Howard mentioned this morning that he had a 5 minute phone call with Keef last evening.
This was for a preparation for a phone interview for the air.
It's unclear if that happens today or next week, as he has Ah-Nold Schwarzenegger on today promoting his new tell-all book.

Hope its a good one and I hope there's more to come with the new album hitting the record stores in 3 weeks.

EDIT:

I only heard the first 30 min of the show this morning on my commute into the jay-oh-bee....
I just listened to the replay...So it appears that it will be an in-studio interview sometime in the next 2 weeks.
If there was an actual date mentioned, I missed it.
I'll hear it again during this weekend's replays.

Maybe with a guitar?? Or maybe its still on the phone/Zoom...either way...stoked my friends...
Someone better figure out how to grab it so folks like Gazza can hear it as there is no Sirius in Europe.

Mick was short, this one will not be.
I got so excited. His Bruce, Macca, Paul Simon interviews were off the charts, and this is the one he's always wanted to do. He played almost two dozen clips off Stones songs and two Keith solo tunes. I've never seen Howard this excited, and I've been listening since i was a teen, and I missed very little since he went to Sirius in 06.

I don't know how to record this stuff, i still listen in my car and on the app, but I know this show gets recorded, so hopefully all will hear it. I really hope this one gets on HBO like Springsteen did.

Haha. Thanks. There are ways and means, I think.

I did manage to see a video uploaded of the 2 hour Springsteen interview. I find most of Bruce's interviews to be a bit 'meh' but Stern's was the best one I've ever heard him do. Howard really did his homework.

Keith does tend to lapse into self-parody mode in a lot of his interviews in recent years. Hopefully, Stern can get a great one out of him.

I have noticed that the ones for this album have been noticeably good. The Guitar Player one was the best of his I've read in years. My guess is that his sobriety has had a huge effect. It just seems he is not hiding behind the drink like he used to.

In all his interviews and moments on stage that I have seen, I don't think I have ever seen him that emotionally upset about anything.

He literally teared up on stage during one of the 2016 Olé Olé Olé performances cause he was so touched by how amazing the South American fans were, and he (and Mick as well) almost started crying on stage during the 2021 tour when Mick was talking about Charlie, I thought during this interview now when asked about Charlie, he actually was quite put together compared to that

Sober Keith looks and sounds great. A few interesting things.

He tells that Muddy Waters story as if others told the story about painting the ceiling because Muddy didn't make money. Wasn't that the story Keith used to tell? I think it was on 25x5 in fact and in some interviews.

He now considers Prince a genius but once called him a talentless midget. Obviously tastes change, but that is quite a change.

My favorite bit was his praise of Bill. God I wish he would rejoin the band before it's too late. Won't happen, but I wish it would.

I think he also told that story about Muddy Waters in his book, but not that part where he stepped off the ladder and shook his hand and thanked him for covering his songs, that was an interesting addition

Not only did he apparently make amends with Prince but also Elton John cause he said while they aren't close or anything like that, he admires what Elton does and says he likes his first record, he has come a long way from insulting him and throwing ketchup bottles at his hotel door lol xD

What I personally found most interesting was how disheartened and hurt Keith sounded when talking about that it kills him when he gives Mick a new song and Mick just discards it because it's not good enough and how it makes him feel like he failed at writing a good enough song and it's not Mick's fault but his own cause he just wants to write songs that Mick likes to sing...like...he just wants Mick's approval...and I really hope that Mick, now that he is basically telling every single interviewer in all those interviews how hard Keith worked and how Keith helps to improve his ideas and his guitar playing, that he also tells Keith that cause for a moment it made me wonder, man, does he ever tell Keith all that stuff cause Keith sounded like he really just needs to hear this from Mick, not via the press
