The Japanese version will (as usual) get even more bonus tracks. How do they do this every time?

https://www.universal-music.co.jp/rolling-stones/news/2022-11-30/

"On 10 February 2023, the definitive live hits album full of the band's hits, GRRR Live! will be released. The Japanese edition of the album will be released in 2CD, DVD + 2CD and Blu-ray + 2CD formats, with a 3LP (black), 3LP (white) and 3LP (red) (UNIVERSAL MUSIC STORE exclusive) available on import only. Blu-ray and digital will include a Dolby Atmos mix.

The film features some of the greatest numbers of all time, including 'It's Only Rock'n'Roll', 'Honky Tonk Women', 'Start Me Up', 'Gimme Shelter', 'Sympathy For The Devil' and 'Satisfaction'.

The Rolling Stones celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2012-2013 with the 50 & Counting Tour, which took the band on 30 dates across North America and Europe. 15 December 2012 saw the band play the last of four shows
(sic) in and around New York City. The band took to the stage at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Guests included The Black Keys ('Who Do You Love?'), Gary Clark Jr. & John Mayer ('Going Down'), Lady Gaga ('Gimme Shelter'), Mick Taylor ('Midnight Rambler') and local hero Bruce Springsteen ('Tumbling Dice'). The performance was one of the most unforgettable concerts in the band's history.

Fans have not been able to get footage of this performance since it was first shown on Pay-Per-View in 2012. The DVD and Blu-ray versions of the show have been re-edited and remixed, and three songs from the 13 December show (also in Newark) have been added as bonus footage. The songs are 'Respectable (with John Mayer)', 'Around and Around' and 'Gimme Shelter'.

The Japanese edition will also include two bonus videos of 'The Last Time' and 'Tumbling Dice' from the 13 December show, and three bonus tracks: 'Tumbling Dice', 'Doom And Gloom' and 'The Last Time'."

(thanks, Irix)

I'm not a fan, but I think Lady Gaga was the best guest vocalist on that tour.  The footage of her and her friend dancing at the foot of the stage later in the Newark show is priceless, and hot.  Will it make the video, or be cut for contractual reasons, or because the minds that re-edit these PPVs for home video tend to be thick?

Here's some of it, fan-filmed from not the best angle.  The official capture is much better:

Does man sittin have any idea who she is? Damn I am a shabby dancer but give me a chance with Gaga!

I'll bet she wasn't dancing in those ridiculously high heels she wore on stage.

Lucky they didn't cause her an injury.

Thanks. I can't really see how the market for imports is so big that an extra song (because its often as little as that) is a deal breaker on whether to buy the product or not.  Then again, if the Japanese version is half the price of the import I guess its understandable. But surely this issue isn't exclusive to Japanese record stores?

they barely had enough to fill an 8-song album for Black and Blue

Really? Just for mere starters for 10 (10+minutes) there was the well lovely "Hey Niggly Rita',

They should do when they hit the road with the new album where they release Audio downloads of every show like Springsteen has done & Santana did with many of their shows this year.

So many great unreleased stuff still out there in bootleg. And from what we've seen many have vocals not on bootlegs or multiple mixes... For me The emotional Rescue stuff could be amazing with all the stuff I've heard bootlegged. Like multiple mixes of ER the song, Send It To Me long version and stuff that never got released known and unknown.

seems to me that is now more "tradition" than a necessity.

And/Or it has just become good business for the market OUTSIDE of Japan...
