Poor Jim, he murdered his own mother with a hammer, but he was in critical mental health already diagnosed before the incident. That's why we have mental hospitals, they belong there

Strange the article does not mention Traffic, he was a member of the band, he also played with Bobby Keys in his solo album, also Frank Zappa, Dr. John, Buffalo Springfield, Crosby, Stills & Nash, BB King, Freddy King and a lot more

Sorry, I wrote that without reading any "updated" information, it was undiagnosed at the moment of the incident. His physicians misdiagnosed the problems and instead treated him for alcohol abuse

. The renowned Japanese artist passed on Tuesday 28th March aged 71.

He won awards - including an Oscar, a Grammy and Bafta - for his work as a solo artist and as a member of the Yellow Magic Orchestra (YMO).

He co-starred in the film Merry Christmas, Mr Lawrence with David Bowie in 1983, and today’s lyric quotation is from the song Forbidden Colours (a vocal version of the main theme) which he performed and composed with David Sylvian for the film’s soundtrack.

David and Ryuichi are seen here in a picture taken in Japan by Denis O'Regan in 1983.

RIP John Regan (1951 - 2023)

He auditioned for bass player of the Rolling Stones in June 1993

He recorded with the Rolling Stones bass for "One Hit" and "Winning Ugly" (Dirty Work), he also is the bass player on all the studio versions of "Dancing in the Street" by Mick Jagger and David Bowie

He was a member of ex-Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley's band Frehley's Comet and recorded and performed with Peter Frampton

He also recorded for Stephen Stills, Dave Edmunds, Robin Trower, Scandal, Billy Idol, David Bowie, and David Lee Roth between others

There might only be a handful, if that, of people who come into your world and truly enrich your life. I have lost one of my closest buddies. He certainly enriched my life because of the person and the great player he was. John Regan was the best of us. He went out of his way to help people when things weren’t right. It didn’t matter who you were, prince or pauper.

I know there are many of you out there who knew him. He was a friend to all. Always musically inspiring and one of the funniest people on the planet.

My thoughts are with his wife Cathy, his children, Christopher and Jeness and his grandchildren. I love you my brother you will be missed by so many.

Fun fact

The harmonica you hear on Harry's 1962 version of 'Midnight Special' is the first ever recording that features Bob Dylan (his first session was with Carolyn Hester, but this was released first - just before his first album came out).

Bob's session fee was $50.

47 years later, Bob would nick a few lines and some of the melody for 'If You Ever Go To Houston'

In fact, he paid for the babysitter for me and my siblings.
