With this, the godparents of British Blues have all passed away:  Cyril Davis, Alexis Korner, Graham Bond and John Mayall. In one way also Chris Barber, all gone!

Gazza told a great story about how at a show he went to, Mayall was flogging merch before the show, did the show, and stepped right off stage to go back to selling the merch. Don't remember the details exactly, but it was something like that.

I'm reading "Blues From Laurel Canyon: John Mayall: My Life as a Bluesman" John's autobiography, I'm on page 186 of 332, I think this is the best autobigraphy I've ever read, John wrote it when he was 86, so it's like a great grandad talking about his time... it's a real great reading! Highly recommended
