The Rolling Stones, Incubus among artists with songs to help you fall asleepFriday, Aug. 21, 2015
Are you looking for the right playlist to fall asleep? While some of us may look to the Jeff Bridges sleeping tapes that were advertised during the Super Bowl, others may look to the latest list of possible snooze tunes.
Paste Magazine released their list of ten songs to fall asleep to, highlighting a number of songs from popular artists that could help make going to bed a lot more peaceful.
The Rolling Stones
The list included: “Into Dust” by Mazzy Star, “Between the Bars” by Elliott Smith, “Aqueous Transmission” by Incubus, “Wild Horses” by The Rolling Stones, "Someone To Watch Over Me" by Ella Fitzgerald, and others.
The magazine says these songs should help the listener find some peace before bed. They listed “Between the Bars” because while the song deals with addiction and sorrow, “(Smith’s) soft voice brings the listener peace of mind.”
The Rolling Stones made the list with “Wild Horses” because the magazine says the song is “one of the dreamiest examples of how the Stones can master a slow song just as well as their signature rock songs.” Ella Fitzgerald was also added because of her dreamy voice and the fact that the romantic lullaby works as something sweet and peaceful to fall asleep to.
Just don’t make this playlist your listening choices for 2 p.m. on Friday.
