Said it before. He put the Wingless Angels album out about three weeks after the release of Bridges to Babylon. In the middle of a Stones tour.
No one gave a bollocks, then, as I recall.
This time - there's not even a major Stones release to 'compete' with. An archives release is hardly the same.
the delay is probably because he cant promote it with shows when the Stones are active.
You're doubting its even been fully recorded?
You got the info weeks ago and now the artist himself has confirmed it.
For fucks sake, I give up. Sitting on unreleased albums until you find an excuse to release them isnt exactly a new thing. Ask Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie. It happens.

I have said it again that ..
The Wingless Angels thing
wasn't a studio solo record from Keith Richards. It was a record
produced by Keith Richards in which he played on here and there. The band are the Wingless Angels. "Main Offender" and "Talk is Cheap" are KR solo records ...as you know.
Two completely different projects, two different records, and each with completely different premises .. unalike ventures all the way around ...(still surprised he released that right on the beginning of a Stones tour though).
I KNOW KEITH says it is done.. but geez man .. he said the same thing a year and a half ago. Both Keith (and Ronnie) are not exactly truthful in their statements as Mick and Charlie basically are.
(Ronnie said they had a whole other record in the making which could easily be finished up in a couple weeks if need be... from their 4 song Paris sessions in 2002... Keith is the same way ... an EXAGGERATOR)
Ian
So with that said.. 1. I am a fool bc I don't have it but I hear the Wingless Angels project is .......very, very good -! How is it in your opinion?
As well ... so let's hear it... how is the new U2 album? (the band has been down hill since 2001 as far as albums go... every album I hear is worse than the one before. Last album I eard from them was No Line OTH ... basically simply "fair" to mediocre to my ears).
I think the Wingless Angels album is superb. The first one anyway. Not to everyone's taste, though.
The U2 album is solid but nothing special. I listened to it the whole way through when I got it on i-tunes - but havent felt the need to repeat the experience right away. I'm playing the new Ryan Adams album a lot more.
I think U2 have been coasting for years. No Line On the Horizon - their last one - was unlistenable. This one's decent enough, but the spark they had up to the mid 90s or so definitely isnt there anymore.
Ronnie's full of shit about 'another album' from Paris 2002, btw. But he never suggested the songs were finished. If a band records 30 'songs' in two weeks, then it doesnt say much for how advanced they were. Nor does it say much for their quality when they probably spent at least half of that time working on the four songs they chose to release which ranged from unspectacular to turgid.
Daft making that comparison to Keith regarding his album. The record is finished. I've had enough independent confirmation of that before he even chose to say it himself. Can you show me where he confirmed it was done 'a year and a half ago' ?
