I was listening to the 1969 Hyde Park show yesterday after reading about the Stones current shows and when I heard "I'm Yours and I'm Hers" the slide guitar sounds an awful lot like Monkey Man-further more Mick even says the phrase "Lemon Squeezer" several times. This is right around when the song would have been recorded too. Anyone else notice this or has it been discussed before? Is this a case of "Anybody Seen My Baby 2"? Curious to hear people's thoughts!

Spanish Tony refers to the song as Lemon Squeezer in his book.  I think Mick nicked the phrase but the songs are not that similar.

I once read that "I'm Yours" was covered at HP because it was heard on a Johnny Winter album released June 1969.  I don't know how reliable that is, but:

I'm not saying its a direct ripoff but the sound of the slide guitar sounds a lot like Monkey Man to me. I can picture Keith fooling around while practicing the song and Mick yelling "Lemon Squeezer" over and over and a Stones classic being born!!!

Sounds more like Led Zep than Monkey Man.

And frankly it seems like a standard open tuning slide that could be credited to Robert Johnson as much as anyone.

Agreed.

And "Lemon Squeezer" is also an old blues metaphor - which I believe Led Zep also referenced somewhere along the line.
