Its official.

Wouldnt read too much into the non-announcement of an appearance by Taylor as his appearance in London was announced separately from the 'non Stones' guests.

Actually I think GaGa is a good choice. She's a good fit for Mick. I thought Mary J sucked so give Lady G a chance to kick it with Mick. She may give GS a Florence Welch ish touch, which I loved.

I just don't see Bruce in the slot previously filled by a Blues guitarist. You Bruce fanatics help me out here. Give me a scenario. Give me a song choice.

Don't know enough about The Black Keys to comment.

All I know is I wish they'd shelve the special guests and give the fans what they want. MICK TAYLOR AND BILL WYMAN ON MORE THAN ONE SONG!!! Yeah, I know. Dream on LJ. Dream on.

Doesnt have to be a blues slot. He probably knows the Stones' catalogue as well as anyone on here, to be honest. It'd be nice if Steve van Zandt was there too, who is even more of a Stones nut. The Stones hardly ever play blues at their gigs anymore anyway. Take out the one-song slots at their recent shows with guest artists and Buddy Guy's show stealing cameo on 'Shine a Light' and ask when was the last time they played a blues song at a proper Stones gig which didnt feature a guest slot? Their target audience doesnt care, sadly.

I still think Taylor will play. I hope its on more than one song. I still dont think Bill will be at the gig but I'd love to be wrong.

The Black Keys are excellent. Its just a two man band though - and one of them is a drummer, so I'm not sure how thats going to work.

Ga Ga is aimed at ratings, I'd guess. Saying that, while I'm not a fan of her music, she's a bloody good singer and performer.  I think her duetting with Mick could be pretty good if they choose the right song.

The Stones have had special guests on their PPV's every time since 1989. It's never once detracted from the show itself and in many cases it has added to it.  Part of the Stones' legacy has always been trumpeted as 'passing it on' so I've no issue with them having special guests at special events - hopefully the song choices are appropriate.

I love GaGa. I think she'll be great.
And it sounds like we might get a shake up of the setlist with the addition of Bruce, which would please me very much.
As far as the Black Keys, THERE IS NO NEED FOR A GUEST DRUMMER. PERIOD.
Bring it on. Let's see what they've got in mind.

Rolling Stones to Host Bruce Springsteen, Lady Gaga and the Black Keys
Guests will join rockers for pay-per-view special December 15th
Bruce Springsteen, Lady Gaga and the Black Keys will appear with the Rolling Stones December 15th at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, as part of a concert that will be telecast live on pay-per-view as "One More Shot."

Inside the Rolling Stones' Reunion

"We're excited these extraordinary artists, Bruce Springsteen, Lady Gaga and the Black Keys, had agreed to help celebrate our 50th anniversary as we share the night live with our fans all over the world," the Stones said in a statement on the band's official app. "Now the fun begins of trying to figure out the best songs to perform together."

The show is the last of the band's three U.S. "50 and Counting" performances this month, following a pair of shows in London in November where guests included Jeff Beck and Mary J. Blige, and Eric Clapton and Florence Welch, respectively. The Stones performed this past Saturday with Blige and Gary Clark Jr. at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, and the group also plays December 13th in Newark. There's been no word on special guests for that show. The Stones will also perform this week as part of the "12-12-12" concert to raise money for victims of Hurricane Sandy.

2 out of 3 are from the area, one is old, the black keys are heavily blue's based and gaga is a current pop culture icon who is also very, very talented... good choices!

Bruce knows their catalog front to back from what I understand.

I hope Buddy Guy performs on the 13th.

Good point on the Black Keys. That may well indeed be a blues related song.

Now I'm really starting to feel my age.  The Stones do a PPV show and the obligatory 'veteran' act is Bruce Springsteen!

Scary thing is that at 63, he's only about 3-5 years younger than Muddy was when he played with the Stones at the Checkerboard in 81, Bo Diddley when he played at the Miami PPV in 1994 and Taj Mahal was at the 97 PPV show. And Mick, Keith and Charlie are actually older than all of those guys were at those gigs.

I've been seeing Gaga live for years, even before "Fame" was released. She is really talented.
I hope they give Gimme Shelter back to Lisa and find another song for Gaga, though.

I think these are good choices all around. To use one of my new words I learned hanging around in London's East End a couple of weeks ago:
I'm chuffed.  Wink

This sums it up.
These performers all fit into what the band has had for past guests

I'm still banking on McCartney. He's never ever been on the stage during a Stones gig, and there's no better place to do it than the biggest PPV in rock history.

Stones aren't thinking too far outside the box with this setlist. My guess is Bruce will play on "The Last Time." He's done it before himself ... and it's on the setlist.

Will be cool to see, no matter what.

I know that GaGa has the same vocal coach as Jagger (In NYC)...so perhaps their paths have crossed before. She is a total rock fan,
worships Brian May and Freddie Mercury...and has a truly magnificent voice...I think she will do the boys justice...Bruce...I have no opinion on how he can contribute...HANG FIRE
comes to mind, but that was not rehearsed...IORR, or Last Time more likely...Black Keys...well it is obvious what they will play on...

Who know who else they may pick up at the show on Wednesday night at MSG...???

Outside chance Bruce might reprise his RHOF '88 duet with Mick on "Like a Rolling Stone"?
