That little bar in a square just down from our hotel off Gran Via was our group's 'base' for a couple of days!

David Bell from Scotland in the background, wearing his well-worn and authentic European tour '73 t-shirt.

That really was an unforgettable trip in every way. I know Mary really had a great time (so much so, that she actually declared afterwards that she would gladly emigrate to Lisbon at some point in the future!)

The ray-bans I'm wearing were a belated birthday gift from you-know-who. She also brought me one of those Keith 'Too Tough To Die' t-shirts as well. I still wear both. I think Mary was trying to re-create me in her own image!

We have a good report after Mary's first skin graft surgery. She is an inspiration!!!

From Bob's Facebook:

"Dr Selvaggi called 2 hours ago she is back in ICU and according to the Good Doctor "doing well"
as you all know there is always a concern when receiving full anesthesia no problem for Mary she did receive Platelets and Blood for Surgery-Betty got to talk "at" her for 20 minutes yesterday-Nurses were sure mary heard part of it before dozing off-Betty pleased-She will be out of it today but we will try another call this weekend--whatever you ALL are doing...........it's seems to be working-I read all your comments to Betty the other day...she was extremely uplifted"

I was really upset when I read that post that she was being called home, I couldn't post in this thread for a while. I'm so happy for good news. We have never met but I will never forget last November. About 5 days after my birthday Mary started a birthday thread for me. That really meant a lot to me!
