I wish I had better news but Mary was only home for few hours before she slipped off her Mom's bed onto the floor. Betty was unable to lift her so she had to call paramedics. She's back in the hospital and as of Saturday was in ICU. Mary's cousin is going to call the Doctor today to attempt to get the answers we are desperate for. I didn't have the heart to post this yesterday.

Oh wow I was afraid something like this might happen. The Dr's really need to take a hard look at her case and make some smart decisions. She seems to be going in circles from nursing homes to ICU, back to hospital rooms and rehab centers. This has got to be the worst run around I have ever witnessed, and on top of Mary's suffering, poor Betty is having trouble keeping up with this. WTF!

It is with heavy heart that I must tell you that Mary passed away at 2:00 am last night. Her brave struggle is over and she is finally out of pain and at peace. Thank you all so much for all of your prayers, love and support. I spoke to Betty; she was able to go to the Hospital to say her goodbyes. She's a strong woman but needs our prayers. RIP my beloved friend. I will miss you so much.

It's incredibly hard to find anything to say really, so I'm just gonna repeat what I've been thinking since I heard.
It was a long and so difficult battle, but in my heart I'd just always felt she would make it. She was so strong, so determined and so willing to live.
It's like this whole thing kept getting more and more difficult for her, unbelievable problem after problem.

It sucks, I don't know what else to say. It just sucks.
It's just unfair and hard and bitter.

Mary was suffering greatly. There was so much I couldn't post to respect her privacy.
If she had pulled through this, she was facing life in a Nursing Home, bedridden and blind.
Mary never wanted that; we spoke about it many times.
So while I grieve the loss of my dear friend, she's really been gone for a long time.

Betty did tell me this morning that when she went to Hospital last night to say goodbye Mary looked very good.
She was at peace.

Goodbye my little Rock N Roller.
Enjoy the rest of the Stones shows sitting on Keith's amp. I know that's where you'll be.
Sitting next to Keith, smiling and out of pain.

In case some of you don't know, the reason we call Mary "Little Rock and Roller" is that many years ago she got into an elevator in NYC in her best Patti-Smith-Inspired skinny black jeans and sunglasses and a couple of floors later, in walks Keith Richards. He grinned and said, "Hey there, little rock and roller." She almost freaked out.
