only the 60 gig ps3 model plays sacd. if it does not have the sacd logo on it, it will not play sacd. they all play dsd, but you either have to buy a dsd format disc, or burn the blurays yourself. this will NOT work for the stones stuff - you need a sacd player for that...
oppo makes a player that does all the formats - sacd and dvd-a, and it runs a couple of bills. there are others, but as you can see, they are much more expensive.
I'm so glad i got the PS3 with a big HD... didn't even know it played SACD's til much after... then i just assumed it was standard b/c it was Sony.
I even did an a/b with my SACD player and my PS3, both with a dig. optical output to see which I thought played better... and I noticed a dif. the PS plays better to my ears... both are Sony's but my SACD player wasn't real expensive either... but... I think my Cd's sound best through my 6.1 hookups... ugh. the sad thing is, I'm so busy with family and stuff, and the kids love to watch scooby, i only have a little time to listen to music right now...
