Alert Board Moderator about this Post!

Don Was is working with The Stone Temple Pilot's for a release due out next year. In the story, Weiland mentions The Rolling Stones versus D. Was working with STP.

Should be interesting. Looking forward to it.

good band.  good news.  i wonder if he is still doing drugs?  i know he had problems with the law a few years back..i think he had a difficult time kicking.  anyway, i like stp's early efforts.

the velvet revolver songs were also good.

STP in their day were pretty darn good. Velvet Revolver, to me, was pretty over ratted. Sure their songs weren't bad. But that's just it ...to me they were just "not bad". I really didn't see them lasting. More hype than actual real good out put.

Scott is supposedly off the substances and has cleaned up. ...Er.. didn't we see that like, twelve times before ...then he's back in re-hab all strung out. That's kinda been the cycle for the past ten years or more with them.

Don Was, such a great Producer. A fantastic ear with a knack for what the artist wants. As well he adds his own little touch to it all.  I do not think anyone is better.  Don Was's recordings just have a certain "quality" to their sound. As well the albums that he produces just runs that special way and are not matched by other producers today.

I know many here think he is bullocks, but I gotta say, to me he is on a level that the others just can't reach. Many feel he is too much a "Yes Man" when it comes to him working with The Stones. But listen to Voodoo, BTB, and ABB. All are "fine" albums. The proof is in the pudding.

These boys could make some noise in the early-mid nineties. Not sure when this clip was taken.

“What rap did that was impressive was to show there are so many tone-deaf people out there,” he says. “All they need is a drum beat and somebody yelling over it and they’re happy. There’s an enormous market for people who can’t tell one note from another.” - Keef

In that video, for a moment I thought he (Weiland) was trying to be Ziggy Stardust (no eyebrows/orange hair) but not as skinny.
