Did you know that Mick funded a center for teaching performing arts in his home town (began in 1994) and that it has become a thriving center for music and arts.  I just came across this.

Remember to keep your nose to the grindstone, your shoulder to the wheel, your feet on the ground, your eye on the ball, your ear to the ground, your finger on the pulse, your head on your shoulders, the pedal to the metal, a song in your heart, your hand on the helm and the bull by the horns

are we too old to sign up for a red rooster session I wonder?

Red Rooster - Sessions
Red Rooster offers primary school students in years 3, 4, 5, & 6 the opportunity to learn to play an instrument. Sessions are held at The Mick Jagger Centre on Tuesdays from 3.45pm till 5.45pm, 10 weeks each term. All students get a
free T-shirt
, bright yellow
with a Red Rooster
on the front.
The instruments currently available are:

Woodwind - Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone & Oboe.
Brass - Trumpet & Trombone.
Strings - Double Bass, Cello, Viola & Violin.

General musicianship classes are also part of the sessions, including established methods such as Kodaly and Dalcroze Eurhythmics: techniques for improving pitch and rhythm, co-ordination and posture. These take the form of singing games and movement exercises. Students are encouraged to have a broad approach to their musicianship as well as learning their instrument and sing songs in a range of styles as part of their training.

Specialist Woodwind, Brass and String teachers work with large groups of students on technique and ensemble playing and are assisted by senior music students from Dartford Grammar School, some of whom benefit from scholarships to the Junior Department of Trinity College of Music.

Each term finishes with a lively concert of music learned and choir work.

Red Rooster sessions are tremendous fun.

I have visited that center before.  I took several pictures.  My favorite picture is of me standing in front of this giant black and white blow up of Micky!  Then, I have another one of me in a hallway with another giant black and white blow up of Micky.  I like that one, too!

I would post them, if I wasn't afraid of the psychos on the web.

Always a good show.  "the indians send signals on the rocks above the pass...the cowboys in the bushes .... in and out of wadsworth with their numbers on their names.

wHAT IS THAT SONG?  now i'm fucked.   what is that squeeze song.  ????

Oh I got it, its COOL FOR CATS. I hope he does it!

The Indians send signals
From the rocks above the pass
The cowboys take positions
In the bushes and the grass
The squaw is with the Corporal
She is tied against the tree
She doesn't mind the language
It's the beating she don't need
She lets loose all the horses
When the Corporal is asleep
And he wakes to find the fire's dead
And arrows in his hats
And Davy Crockett rides around
And says it's cool for cats
It's cool for cats - Cool for cats

/ G - / Em - / C - / Am - / Eb - / Cm - /
  / Eb - / Cm - / Eb - / Cm - / G - / Em - /
  / C - / F - / Em - C - /

The Sweeney's doing ninety
'Cause they've got the word to go
They get a gang of villains
In a shed up at Heathrow
They're counting out the fivers
When the hand cuffs lock again
In and out of Wandsworth
With the numbers on their names
It's funny how their missus
Always look the bleeding same
And meanwhile at the station
There's a couple of likely lads
Who swear like how's your father
And they're very cool for cats
They're cool for cats - Cool for cats

To change the mood a little
I've been posing down the pub
On seeing my reflection
I'm looking slightly rough
I fancy this, I fancy that
I wanna be so flash
I give a little muscle
And I spend a little cash
But all I get is bitter and a nasty little rash
And by the time I'm sober
I've forgotten what I've had
And ev'rybody tells me that
It's cool to be a cat
Cool for cats - Cool for cats

Shake up at the disco
And I think I've got a pull
I ask her lots of questions
As she hangs on to the wall
I kiss her for the first time
And then I take her home
I'm invited in for coffee
And I give the dog a bone
She likes to go to discos
But she's never on her own
I said I'll see you later
And I give her some old chat
But it's not like that on the TV
When it's cool for cats
It's cool for cats - Cool for cats

Gorda I know.  I wouldn't post my pic either.   you Never know
