Disagree on both, especially IORR which I hate: creepy neo-Nazi imagery is not my cup.

For the Stones, Sticky Fingers or Stripped.  For Dylan, BIABH or Desire is much better than that.

Greatest ever:  King Crimson 21st Century Schizoid Man comes to mind, Pink Floyd Animals,  the Dead American Beauty, The Who Sell Out . . .  Zepplein IV fascinated me as a child looking through my older sister's record collection.  The peasant with the sticks on his back against the wall of a crumbling tenement.

IORR is cool. I know it was inspired by some Nazi painting but it's not evident just looking at it on its own. Geez, it's been a long time since there was a cool CD cover. Revenge of the SD?

Starbuck, yes, TTM is dull & insipid but if he actually starts a thread that is about music & doesn't include some wacky poll, I'm all for giving him a pass.

"Their Satantic Majestics Request" comes to mind, "Diamond Dogs" (same guy who did IORR, Guy Peellaert Rock Dreams) also Sgt. Pepper, Absolutely Free, We're only in it for the money, Sticky Fingers, Exile On Main Street, Odgen's Nut Gone (small Faces) Cheech & Chong Album covers (they always were creative) 2 Alice Cooper albums-School's Out & Billion Dollar Babies, I know there's others but can't think of them right now.

Doesn't get much better then their second Decca LP - and, no writing on the sleeve: the imagery says it all.

Well, I'm partial to Sticky Fingers  or Let It Bleed myself.

LIB was the first Stones vinyl I bought when I was 13.  So, LIB is the winner for the bizarro cake cover.

I always thought Let It Bleed was a terrible cover.

The first album that HTM posted above is great. I think it was the first album to NOT have the title or artist's name on it. Pretty groundbreaking for a band issuing their debut album. Sticky Fingers, Exile and Some Girls are amongst the Stones best ones - coincidentally, its their three best albums as well IMO. Most of the recent Stones album covers have been poor - especially the live albums. In the post-vinyl age, it seems to be a lost art (no pun intended)

Odd choice of Infidels for a good Dylan album cover. The early ones are mostly great - especially Freewheelin',...,  Highway 61 etc.

My fave Dylan ones though are these three :

(two very different moods there!)

Cheers - I wondered why the 'Decca' logo on the front looked unfamiliar!

'Black and Blue' is a great cover as well. They've rarely looked more threatening. Especially Keith and Charlie, who resembles an east end gangster.
