#2 is from the soundtrack for A Degree of Murder/Brian Jones

I thought I had one for #10 but Puerto Rico doesn't quite make it as a Latin American country  Roll Eyes

Yes, Puerto Rico is Latin American but not exactly a country but almost... It's The Associated Free State of Puerto Rico, a self-governing unincorporated territory of the United States

The others Latin American countries mentioned in Rolling Stones songs are at least Cuba and Mexico

Voodoo dear

Me doesn't have the energy to play trivia...
And this one is way over my mental abilities right now...

anyway I've always sucked at the game..
and I even did poorly playing name that tune.

When I do play, I always pick a smart partner though! Grin Grin

I'll take a wild stab at some of the #9's....

9.- From the eight former or current members of the Rolling Stones say who:
9.1.- Was/were in a band with a member of Deep Purple? (releasing official material)
ANS: Ronnie Wood was in The Birds with Ian Lord?

9.2.- Has/have played live with Led Zeppelin
ANS: Ron Wood

9.3.- Has/have played live with Jimmy Page?
ANS: Ron Wood at R&R HOF. Bill Wyman & Charlie Watts at the ARMS

9.4.- Has/have recorded in the Studio with Led Zeppelin?
ANS: Ian Stewart, Physical Graffiti

9.5.- Was with the opening act for Black Sabbath?
ANS: Ronnie with The Faces

9.6.- Has/have played live with The Grateful Dead?
ANS: Mick Taylor, Little Red Rooster and West LA Fadeaway

9.7.- Has/have played live or recorded with members of Traffic (In addition to Beggars Banquet)
ANS: Wyman & Watts played with Winwood on the Howlin Wolf London Sessions album.

9.8.- Has/have recorded and released stuff with a progressive rock band?
ANS: I have no fucking clue what "progressive rock band" means. Going with Mick Jagger with Living Colour.

9.9.- Has/have recorded with Steve Marriott?
ANS: Mick Taylor

Hey!! Thanks for replying… great answers, just some comments

You're really very close, in fact you're right!!! Ronnie Wood in the band "Santa Barbera Machine Head" and "The Artbirds", Deep Purple member was Jon Lord, they released three tracks, I have them in this record

...

Ronnie is also on the ASHTON & LORD album but as a guest

Voodoo Chile in Wonderland wrote on Apr 21st, 2009 at 1:29pm:
9.2.- Has/have played live with Led Zeppelin

Your answer is 100% perfect, Ronnie Wood is the only one; he played "Communication Breakdown" at Nassau Coliseum on February 13, 1975

Voodoo Chile in Wonderland wrote on Apr 21st, 2009 at 1:29pm:
9.3.- Has/have played live with Jimmy Page?

You missed this one: Keith Richards at the R&RHofF Induction Ceremony show at Waldorf Astoria Hotel on January 15, 1992

...

...

...

and of course the previous (answer 9.2)

Voodoo Chile in Wonderland wrote on Apr 21st, 2009 at 1:29pm:
9.4.- Has/have recorded in the Studio with Led Zeppelin?

Your answer is right but not only “Boogie With Stu” on Physical Graffiti but “Rock and Roll” on LZ IV; check this one from our Stu space here at Rocks Off

“This track came out of a jam with The Stones’ mentor Ian Stewart on Piano. Bonzo played the intro of “Good Golly Miss Molly/Keep a Knokin’”, and Page added a riff. Fifteen minutes later the nucleus of R&R was done on a tape – displaying the full benefits of recording on location with the tapes ever running” From “Led Zeppelin – A Celebration” by Dave Lewis.  The whole album and outtakes were recorded in the Headley Grange Studios with The Rolling Stone Mobile and Stu present, on of the outtakes “Boogie with Stu” released later in Physical Graffiti

Voodoo Chile in Wonderland wrote on Apr 21st, 2009 at 1:29pm:
9.5.- Was with the opening act for Black Sabbath?

The Alvin Lee Band featuring Mick Taylor in 1981

Voodoo Chile in Wonderland wrote on Apr 21st, 2009 at 1:29pm:
9.6.- Has/have played live with The Grateful Dead?

Perfect answer, he was a guest playing on those two songs at the Madison Square Garden on September 24, 1988

Voodoo Chile in Wonderland wrote on Apr 21st, 2009 at 1:29pm:
9.7.- Has/have played live or recorded with members of Traffic (In addition to Beggars Banquet)

In short the answer is seven out of the eight members!! Only Mick Jagger has never recorded with a Traffic member (well… only on the Beggars Banquet sessions but this was excluded on the question)
  • Brian with Dave Mason on Jimi Hendrix’ “All Along the Watchtower” (South Saturn Delta); also in “My Little One” but this has NOT been released officially ("The Axis Outtakes" CD is not official, it was released by the thieves of Experience Hendrix LLC under other company as they cannot get the copyright as it was not owned by or produced by Jimi and it has other musicians)
  • Stu, Bill and Charlie on “The London Howlin’ Wolf Sessions” with Steve Winwood
  • Mick Taylor plays with Alan Merrill and Steve Winwood in 1977, he also is on a Traffic (Spencer Davis Group) cover version of Gimme Some Loving by The Blues Breakers but this does not count as there ain’t no Traffic members there.
  • Ronnie Wood several times: In 1973 at the Rainbow Theatre released as "Eric Clapton’s Rainbow Concert". On the album "On The Road To Freedom" by Alvin Lee and Mylon Lefevre. He plays with Jim Capaldi and Steve Winwood. Dave Mason plays on “FUC Her” on Ronnie’s “Gimme Some Neck”
  • Charlie on the ARMS concert with Steve Winwood Bill too but not at the same time
Keith plays with Steve Winwood at the Annual Rock’n Roll Hall Of Fame’ in 1986.
  • Charlie and Bill with Steve Winwood on Leon Russell’s debut album.
  • Bill Wyman play son Jerry Lewis’ Muscular Dystrophy Telethon’ recorded with Dave Mason in 1979

Voodoo Chile in Wonderland wrote on Apr 21st, 2009 at 1:29pm:
9.8.- Has/have recorded and released stuff with a progressive rock band?

Mick Taylor with Gong: Expresso, Expresso II and Downwind

Progressive Rock Band = A band that plays progressive rock,  Blank Frigging Stare; Gong is a great mixture of progressive rock and psychedelia!

Voodoo Chile in Wonderland wrote on Apr 21st, 2009 at 1:29pm:
9.9.- Has/have recorded with Steve Marriott?

Charlie, Bill and Brian on the recording sessions for “Acid in the grass” (released as “In Another Land”)

Keith with Alexis Korner in 1975 recording and releasing “Get off my cloud”

Feel free to post your answers replying this message here on the message board, this is just a warm-up trivia…

Fuck you Gazza, Will ya?
Nolte - The Rocks Off patron saint

UndecidedAre you kidding? War horses couldn't drag me away

I was not kidding, my intention was to make another trivia with a very special prize for the winner but based on the huge enthusiasm that this had here I won't do it….
Shit!

Wait a minute Ronnie, probably that was the reason and it was not asked in the poll, the RO regulars only answer a trivia if there is an attractive prize with it LOL
Ouch!

To note, the origin of this trivia is as follows: I made this trivia in our message board in Spanish some weeks ago (as you know over there we had a prize for the winner). Since I spent a long time selecting and loading the files I decided to made a translation of 10 of the 21 questions I asked there... so not big deal

:necrophillicpost

BTW; this was not an official Rocks Off trivia but mine as a regular.
