“What rap did that was impressive was to show there are so many tone-deaf people out there,” he says. “All they need is a drum beat and somebody yelling over it and they’re happy. There’s an enormous market for people who can’t tell one note from another.” - Keef

I've noticed this trend too, how come anytime some one dresses up as a pirate now days they always go for the Johnny Depp/Capt. Sparrow look. What about all the other pirates, aren't they being discriminated against? Isn't their like affirmative pirate action or something to help Capt Hook out

I'd say so. Here's one of the most famous pirates, Jean Lafitte.

...

Hardly looks like anything you'd see in the movies these days, huh?

Well, there's The Old Absinthe House, where Jimmy Page used to seen before the place turned into a frozen daiquiri joint, and then there's:

...
Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop

BTW, this place is only one block from my flat.

Legend has it, the oldest bar in America and former front for Lafitte's illegal business activities.
Plenty of "haunted" buildings in New Orleans, but I haven't heard of this being one.
