Mick and Dave Stewart? ...from Ian

Was just wondering what ever happened to the Dave Stewart & Mick Traveling Wilburys type deal that was supposedly going on?

Remember the two (Mick and Dave Stewart) were supposedly working together again and Dave was asked what it entailed and he gave an answer referring to it was supposed to be like a Traveling Wilbury's type of affair of some sort but we never heard anything more and that was a good while back?

Wonder if it was just a blow off answer or possibly he was hiding something?

However a spokesperson for Dave Stewart also confirmed the two were working on a project around that time. That was in September-October of 2008.

You'd think if they were not working together on something he would of just said that it wasn't true or possibly he could of explained the two were just kicking some song ideas around like they always do or something to that effect if that was the case versus saying they were working on a Traveling Wilbury's type of project.

They worked together writing songs for the film "Alfie" they won a Oscar, I remember Mick got up & got the award, that was a few years back, I didn't know they were going into a traveling Wilbury's type of thing.

I'd take anything on Contact Music with a pinch of salt. Their info always seems to be copied and pasted from other sources and then usually conveniently twisted out of context. An awful news source.

Dont recall much about that story, but didnt something appear on Stewart's own site for a day or two about some intended collaboration, only to be quickly removed?

Primitive Cool was more of a solo for Keith ... songs like Kow Tow & Shoot Off Your Mouth ... Peace For The Wicked was more a Lou Reed song ... always loved Party Doll ah yes dancin' days are here again ... Jeff Beck on Throwawy was ordinary I agree ... PC was a bit jazzy but ... "did you walk cool in the 60's Daddy?" was the question of the day from his kids ...  Blank Frigging Stare

Lets Work was the single. Primitive Cool was the name of the album. The album's relative failure was the best thing to have ever happened the Stones. They wouldnt have worked together again had Mick's solo career been a success.

dave stewart and mick are writing together again? you may remember them for such past hits as driving too fastball, strike out of time, and please throw home.
