Well, Anita wasn't much better. I wouldn't be surprised if alot of the mess was hers. It is bad though, but I don't have any room to talk... I wouldn't be too much better.
This was the beginning of 67, when Keith was sticking around alot at this time and Anita lived there. I'm sure they constantly had guests. This is towards the end of Brian and Anita's relationship, and they fought alot. The mess doesn't really paint the portrait of a happy home, does it?

I sat on that bed, in that room, after Anita left. It looked worse. There were old plates of food, boxes of tissues and spent tissues tossed everywhere. Clothing was all over the place, including some Anita left behind, which Brian gave me, making me promise Id never wear the stuff around him. Fair enough. But everyplace Brian lived looked a wreck. He was just not a tidy person. Cotchford fared better, thanks to the care of Mrs Hallett, who was a gem!

This hospital wasn't in Spain but in France in Albi (few miles from Toulouse).
The article below explains why Brian spent his 25th birthday in a french hospital (the small picture on the left was published in the local newspaper in 1967).
