The header planned for Saturday was John Lennon with Mick Jagger, than I changed to John with Brian

This was the header dedicated to Linda before changing for the "triptic" that was "diptic" as by mistake I included a friend of Linda

With Eric, Julian, John and Yoko

Even when Brian looked rough, he had a really nice smile. Brian's smile

Question to all Brian fans, of all the books written about Brian, which one do you think was the best and why?  I am on a reading quest at the moment and there are quite a few out there.  I am prepared to read more than one, if that is what it takes and enjoy reading so that is no big deal.  However, I was very interested to know your opinions about all these books.

The first book I read about Brian was written by Nicholas Fitzgerald years ago. I was a kid and glad to find any book about Brian.

The Last book that I read was "Brian Jones - The Last Decadent". It was interesting, but I thought made too many speulative conclusions.

I read a book by Anna Wohlin which I did not enjoy.

I did enjoy Bill's Stone Alone.

Has anyone found a real good book about Brian? A book not filled with exageration and speculation?

They're all prone to speculation, but my favorites are Mandy Aftel's Death of A Rolling Stone [thankfully really NOT about his death at all], Bill's two books, and Stanley Booth's True Adventures.

I have to say that the pix of Brian without a shirt ARE pretty sexy.  He often looked like a little boy in his photos and I think that hair on his chest serves to remind me that he was a grown man. Smiley

Anyway, I just finished the Booth book and am now starting Blown Away.   I am only on chapter 3 but it is written well. The grand jury testimony by the man who witnessed Marion Hunter's murder at Altamont was something else.  It made me sick.  I had to put the book down and come back to it later.  Horrifying stuff. Smiley

They're all prone to speculation, but my favorites are Mandy Aftel's Death of A Rolling Stone [thankfully really NOT about his death at all], Bill's two books, and Stanley Booth's True Adventures.

Thanks for the info and the great pictures.

I have the Aftel book too.  I just haven't gotten to that one yet.  Might be the next one in queue.

Actually, I take that back.  I have read the Aftel book already.  Sorry, I am reading so many that I am getting them all confused.  Smiley I liked it very much.

There is a really funny photo of Brian making a Nanker face wearing only his tighty whiteys and a white turtleneck.  All the other Stones and this other band are dressed but Brian looks like a four-year-old boy misbehaving.  I thought it was a very interesting picture when I saw it.
