I just read on the internet another pop starlet is under pressure and stressed out about going on tour and she hides in her room and cries about it.

Ms. Spears, Keith Richards has been rockin' it for nearly 5 decades. Charlie Watts was very ill, but he's on the fucking road every night.

I've also read other rockers like Lenny Kravitz and a Food Fighter have had to cancel tours due to "exhaustion."

They may be wrinkled, but the road goes on forever.

I'd imagine the Stones have played to more people than anyone. Think I estimated it around 35 million one time.

Dylan's Never Ending Tour must be around 2,000 shows now since 1988. I think the Stones career total is around 2,070.

The Grateful Dead (before and post Garcia's death) must be on a similar amount of gigs, no?

Bob went a long time without touring though (between 1966 and 1974)

Well Gazza good question. They did play some large festivals like Watkins Glen with over 700,000 estimated (I was there but too stoned to count).Plus they toured arenas almost non stop for years. Some stadiums too.My hunch is they might surpass the Stones in attendance overall because of the lack of breaks in the schedules.Cant think of anyone else that would have those kinds of numbers.They were active from late 60's until 1995 I think when Jerry passed on.

Yep. The Watkins Glen thing plus their continued activity up to '95 was what made me think they may have played to as many as the Stones.

The Stones only really played theatres, ballrooms and clubs up to 1967 - which counts for the first half of the shows theyve ever played.

They werent regularly playing stadiums until 1975/76 and even then there were still a high mix of arenas and (in Europe) theatres.

Of course, the Stones have played four shows (Hyde Park, Altamont, SARS and Copacabana) where the combined audience totals would be in the neighbourhood of 2.2 - 2.5 million

They " Technicians " recommened a ' Fuel Service / Filter Replacement ' but I informed them that all additional funds need to be reserved / saved for future Rolling Stones Concerts this fall / 2010 .

Jesus Christ people, stay on fucking point. Fuck ticket price debates. I bought my parents each a $60.00 ticket for the Atlantic City show. I've had my fare share of booze tonight but it's still about the Stones. I have A Bigger Bang blasting in the other room and plenty of Guinness to keep me cozy and drunk until the cops start knocking.

The Stones are partly a live experience. If you haven't experienced them live, you haven't had the half of it. Keith barking during JJF is fantastic. I saw him howling in his own world on the No Security tour. I wish I had clips of it. He charged the stage on was on all fours with the Tele snarling at the energy the band gives off.

The are the fucking Kings of it all. I have two bi-wired Carver TFM-15CB amps feeding a new pair of Paradigm Studio 40 monitor speakers to prove it. They sound so good. The Rolling Stones are the greatest musicians of all time.

Watkin's Glen ~ I was there, it was a MUSIC Festival, on many acres of land with fields, dotted with tents, Volkswagon Beetle Mini-vans and small busses of people living commune-style. Crowds of YOUNG people everywhere were spread out for miles, getting stoned, hooking up, and grooving to the music. Ah those were the days. my man, that was some kinda trip! Haha yeah!
