Keef's an underrated guitarist for sure. In fact, I'd say all the Stones are very underrated as musicians by the general public. Their genius is very subtle; you really have to analyze the songs to really appreciate the musicality of them. Whereas some bands, like the Who, Zeppelin, Van Halen....show off their skills every chance they get.

Keith accomplished something not many guitarists can. He created his own unique style that is instantly recognizable. It's easy to imitate other guitarists. Creating your own style and tone is difficult.

Cool is in the eye of the beholder I guess. I just haven't yet succumbed to the last 20 years of the relentless anti smoking propaganda. But then again they haven't found any tumors in my lungs yet....knock on wood.

I take back my earlier comment, as a guitarist Keith is underrated, in the 60's, he was one of the first in a rock band to use blues guitar, the way a blues guitar should be played (Time Is On My Side, the guitar version, not the organ version) Gimme Shelter & Sympathy is another example, along with so many others, he plays Berry leads fantastic, & he composed so many original leads (I love The Last Time) & is a great rhythm guitarist.

Who is "Hendricks?"

I would rather listen to Keith play than Page or Clapton anyday.

Keith was underrated because so many listeners and other goomers overlook the genius of his seemingly simplistic playing method. The truth is that it has always been the perfect rhythm/lead (Keith calls his playing with another guitarist "weaving") contribution to the Rolling Stones.
