It got down to 18 a few nights ago here in Portland. It's been freezing for over a week. We've got about a foot of snow; very unusual for these parts. Some East Coast transplant complained in a letter to the editor about the constant news coverage of the weather. She noted that in Boston, where she came from, they get lots of this stuff but don't cover it on TV constantly. She missed the obvious point: in Boston (and even more in Buffalo), bad winter weather is a "Dog Bites Man" story. In the Pacific Northwest, it's "Man Bites Dog."

It's 16 degrees now and as I look outside I see I have yet more snow to brush off the car.
Not too bad for a Buffalo morning.

What? Is she really saying "We strongly urge you to BRING SOME OF YOUR OUTDOOR DECORATIONS INSIDE as winds are expected to gust past 50 mph."??

Snowed from 130P Friday to 630P Sunday, a good 18 inches of fluff. Might as well get juiced, which, in a rare moment, I did!

Been watching CNN all morning while these people get rescued. So far it looks like they got everybody.
